Chris Forino has the pace, power and Physique of a Premier league defender, but whether through inexperience, over confidence or lack of concentration, makes mistakes that would not be out of place in the Hellenic league.
Unfortunately central defending is not the easiest position for a young pro to find his feet, as mistakes can often be costly. Let's hope he gets the right coaching and guidance to fulfil his immense potential.
His errors are pretty infrequent. Central defending at a high level is a pretty intelligent position now (gone are the days of smashing everything within 5 yards) and he does seem like a learner. Its a crying shame that he hasn't had Alfie or Taff next to him for a decent run of games as that would have made his development a lot easier.
Looking back over the first goal, it's a very tight offside call. He's run around Forino and the angle doesn't show whether Chris' shoulder is playing him on
Some observations from our long trip to Burton yesterday. Chem Campbell has no left foot…every time I’ve seen him he’s been playing out on the left and as he approaches defenders he always cuts back onto his right foot, never pushing it on to make a cross with his left foot. Very easy to defend against if you know this - but I think McCleary is the same, can’t recall him using his left foot, if at all. When I played I was able to use both feet equally as well.
Sadly the language used by some of our supporters was vile, and by people who should know better. They have not a care that young children are in the crowd.
Anis was the same when he first played for us & as related by Sam Grace & others he was encouraged in training to use his left in training, I am sure this is happening with Chem; hopefully he has a similar desire to learn & improve as that demonstrated by Anis
Losing 2-0 with a poor performance arguably would have felt better than what actually panned out.
Missing so many chances against a ten men team who Big Phil repeatedly mentioned forward players of theirs not bothering to close down / track back, felt like an absolute give away.
11 games to go, and we're very soon into the classic last 10 run in. A period we can expect many an argument over what is a must win game.
That's what I was eluding to with my post about someone saying "If Scowen is fit, he starts. Evidently not".
What is the point in having an unfit player on the bench? Never understood that. If he is not fit enough to start, he isn't fit enough to come on. Unless it's to gain minutes which in this case - it is not.
Most managers will name an unchanged team if they have won the previous game. Scowen had a slight hamstring and with the state of the pitch I suspect Blooms was hoping not to have to use him but had no choice after going 2-0 down. These things are not always black or white.
I know what you mean but muscle injuries don't go away if you keep damaging the scar tissue (as I know to my cost). Let's hope it's just a niggle and he's back Tuesday.

Meanwhile, over at Loftus Road, seems like GA is making his mark....tweet from Watford FC late in the game yesterday:
There's another break in play as what feels like a fifth different QPR player goes down with cramp.
Have you not watched Harry Maguire over the last couple of years?

All in all a pretty miserable trip.
I wonder how Tj would perform in a Scowan/Gape midfield role.

Big Phil ? That makes you a giant.
And you never tapped me on the shoulder.
It’s ok. It’s been nostalgia time recently on the Hands Up thread.
There's no reference to my height, so there's no comparison.
And I might have if you'd not stopped going to games almost immediately. A coincidence I trust.
But you are pretty tall I believe.
Ever cheerful best describes Phil C.
Might of been !
Thank the force you didn’t say might of.
I used to drive a 'little micra'
Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere..but if Scowen was fit, and came on 2nd half..why was he not starting? He's simply key to everything.
On another note there's a guy on the fb thread I assumed was you. Thinking your gasroom nickname is a "clever" (ish) pun of your real name.
But I think I'm actually massively mistaken, which could have been awkward.

You're treating fit / unfit as some black and white assessment.
There will be grades of fitness and most likely Scowen wasn't 100%. Can't imagine there's much more mystery to it.
Is it worth risking for the rest of the season though? I mean if it was last game of the season, yes.
Surely much more effective in that case to use someone that is 100% fit?
It's a quality versus fitness decision.
I could be 100%, but I'd be useless. A 75% Scowen is probably more effective than 95% of our squad.
And clearly, he wasn't 100% so that's why he was on the bench! Because he can handle playing 20mins or whatever it was.

Scowen?
He was back yesterday!
But not starting, which is the point of the discussion!
He'll start. If I'm wrong I'll accept a 1 day gasroom thread ban,
Everybody wanting to dish out the cards these days. It'like Christmas!
That’s it. Cover blown ! Not sure about the ‘ish’ though ! Daughter wanted to know if it reflected the size of my brain. Charming.
i occasionally chip in on Dave Gardner’s Friends of Wycombe Wanderers FB page (I think that’s what it’s called).
Just catching up on the thread, reminder here that we used to have a pitch with a 14 foot slope 😂

Just saying.
@Shev most Sunday evenings, after a rollercoaster of English football, I watch 'Bill Bailley, Larks in Transit' , and suddenly everything is ok
