It’s great to read of all this Gasroom camaraderie. Briefly, pre-pandemic, I tried to get to meet and chat to as many fellow members as I could. I recall a couple of chats in what I shall call the Vere Suite with the much missed @NorsQuarters, the sadly departed Phil Bate (@ValleyWanderer) and the ever cheerful Phil Catchpole.
I’d heard that @Shev (who shares a first name with me) was over from the States at the time but the nearest I got to him was when, a few minutes before kickoff, someone pointed out an extremely tall figure standing up about 30 yards to my left in the upper tier of the Frank Adams stand at the Valley end. Incidentally, Phil Bate’s username derived from Hughenden Valley where he lived, not the terrace.
I’ve not met @bookertease but would love to see the photo with him in it and perhaps also the video of @MorrisItal_ . I may know him by sight. Early this season he met and chatted to a fellow ancient (of mine, not @MorrisItal_ ’s !!) - Ron Monk who is approaching 90 but still gets to most home games.
PS I’m not putting my hand up yet @Kim_il_Swan but I might well do on Tuesday evening if we fail to beat Bristol Rovers.
Ah sorry bit slow there. I have vague memories of Amsterdam station during euro 2000 but I had been made to eat some suspicious chocolate brownies and I'm not quite sure what happened
All looking very interesting. Bolton away at Wednesday on Friday, so we could potentially lose to Barnsley and still be only 3 points off. But beat Barnsley and they are potentially dragged back into it too.
I am still on the 80 points thing. If we go 6-2-2 we get there, and then hope it's enough. So even if we go 2-2-2 over the next six, I would still hope for a four game winning streak.

Churchill on a visit to China.1954. Am I doing this right??
I always thought Churchill's famous 'Have you been to Peppa Pig World? Hands up if you've been to Peppa Pig World...' speech was terribly over-rated. He could have done with a bit of WC Fields in there...

@LX1 I can’t believe you would have partaken in mind-altering substances.
Never again Chris. Loyally stuck to beer since haha

Hope the above doesn’t explode the Gasroom. Posted on Facebook by my sister.
Posted in the hope that it might bring a wan smile to the lips of those with their hands up.
I must be better known than I thought if people are pointing up at me from 30 yards away! I would have managed a regal wave if I had known!

Has been a rollercoaster over the last few games, but it almost feels like not winning against Barnsley won't be a killer blow now.
Any positive result and we're utterly cooking.
Going to be an exciting last 10. Just need a bit of luck with the absentee list.
We've said quite often this season how strong the bench was. Last night was probably the weakest bench we've fielded all year.
Hopefully Vokes, Wheeler and Freeman can come back into the party for the weekend to instantly change that.
Beat Barnsley it's on, lose and it's curtains.
Disclaimer - granted I've been saying this for the last 6 matches
Let's see how Bolton away at Sheff Wed goes on Friday first.
If Bolton win and we lose, it'll be a real hard slog.
If both lose, it's as we were, with both having ticked off one their 2 toughest games left.

There's a tantalising decent run on paper games 40 to 45, with Portsmouth surely on the beach by game 46.
Although Burton should have been such a game, so can't ever go on paper!
Smashed 5-2 at home last night. That could have been us with those chances we had.
My favourite: Lady Astor “If you were my husband I’d poison your tea”
Churchill , “ And if you were my wife I’d drink it “
My favourite (young) Churchill quote is, ‘I can boil an egg…I’ve seen it done.’
Woman: “Winston, you’re drunk”.
Churchill: ”Yes, but you’re ugly. And in the morning, I will be sober...”

Interestingly (ish) neither of these jokes were original and there is very little evidence that Churchill/Astor line ever happened.
The "drunk joke" comes from a WC Fields film in 1935. The drinking poisoned tea dates back to the 19th century.
Spoilsport!!

I think I’m needed in the kitchen, it’s been lovely chatting, try the vol-au-vents they’re great.
The season may not be over but sounds like Lewis Wing's agent is putting the feelers out for an end of season move...
QPR it is then, assuming you know who is still their manager.
Yep you got it.
Has he still got one year left on his contract?
I believe so, so hopefully a fee!
The 'Oh No He's Too Good For Us He'll be off in the Summer' thread starts earlier and earlier every year.
What a miss he would be.
I'm not surprised clubs higher up are looking at him. He's clearly Championship standard
