If we needed an interim interim manager to get us through Saturday’s match, I think I’d go for Joe Jacobson - even if it means him not actually playing.
Smart, personable guy and WW through and through. You’d have to think he’d have the respect of the dressing room.
The Cowleys have always given the impression of only being in it for themselves. And they’ve had limited successes with big budgets. If you’re looking for the opposite of GA then they’d be your choice.
I was looking at conference managers the other day and he perked interest, as well as what Darren Sarll is doing at Woking. No idea if they have big budgets, what youth development looks like etc. However, they seem to be doing good jobs, particularly Sarll.
Not sure how you can see from 'driving past' anyway, at least from the main road. The actual training field is round the corner at the bottom of the drive.
Thank goodness we don't have a midweek game this week or next. Gives us a bit more breathing space to get something sorted for this week, with a view to a longer term move before the next game.
On the other hand, I see a situation where players who came to Wycombe for its famous culture created by GA are given much less persuasion to sign new contracts in the Summer...
Let's hope that reality is somewhere in the middle at the very least!
What a load of old crap, says he's driven past but too quickly to see who is there, another fan speculates then minutes later he's announcing it as facts.
Always going to be the case. Some will be genuine, some maybe not. And this is what we had with S***h when he rocked up. Players such as Garner were the first to be alienated. However what I would say that this squad is coming to it's natural end in the summer. Age, contracts, minutes played, costs will see the end of at least half of them. This might be exciting to a new manager or it might look like a poison chalice.
Great opportunity for someone but undoubtedly very difficult act to follow. If anything the budget is likely to decrease so scouting and transformation of out of form unwanted players will still be key.
The thing that concerns me most is that I have the feeling that a major factor in GAs decision to go would have been the major cut in the playing budget* that is going to come this summer. I remember how broken he looked and sounded the last time just before the Couhigs came in and on a human level I'm sure a part of him wants to avoid that again.
Whoever the new manager will be, they are looking at putting together a squad to be competitive in this league with not very much money at all and with very little in the bank of goodwill (unless it is one of our former players).
Interesting times ahead...
*Yes I know theoretically we could have got/still could promoted but it was not exactly likely. I think if we'd still been in reach of the autos in the form we are in GA may have been more tempted

I don’t know what’s worse. The waiting or talk of the Cowley brothers.

I'd prefer an up and coming manager to a merry-go-round type. Anyone know much about Dean Brennan at Barnet?

"Sam Grace and David Waites are currently taking Wycombe's training session today.
Ainsworth and Dobson were not seen on the training pitch."

Stolen from a Wycombe fan on Twitter this time, diversifying sources

The two lads at Wealdstone have performed miracles to compete with the big boys with their squad of part-timers

The Cowleys' stint at Huddersfield wasn't a failure. They saved them from relegation in very trying circumstances.
With the compensation package for GA and Dobbo being the latest Rob has had a tsunami of cash come into this club in their tenure haven't they?
If O'Neill gets us promoted in a few months time then today is when the happiest day of my life started.
I'm just going to keep saying this while rocking back and forth
Spot on.

I can
notbelieve the BFP are using a bed-wetting Twitter account as a sourceThat's the big worry. People already thought it might be a big summer for moving players on, but without Gareth it might be multiplied!
Or, it gives a new manager a chance to create his own squad and culture asap.
That's the one major positive of this situation, I think: whoever comes in will be starting with more of a blank canvas than in a lot of jobs.

I was thinking of him too. If the highlights of their game against Chesterfield are anything to go by, Woking play fantastic football.

I apologise in advance but any pro-Cowleys posts are getting a thumbs down.
I might even turn into Trevor or WanderersDevine96 if they get appointed.
8 minutes past 1 and he’s still here… I can’t take this
Why do you hate them so much?

No it's not, the main pitches are on the left as you drive in, still can't see that much from the road mind
Close Quarters painted the Cowleys as absolutely awful characters. I think it may have even quoted Dobbo on it.
It did, but I would take what Harman writes with a pinch of salt - this is the guy who was done for plagiarism.
