In 2008 I went to a Bowie gig at the end of his career. It was a small venue abroad so wasn't hard to get in. I was happy to have seen the great man live and would have taken that as a great life moment.
But then I went for a piss and the legend came and took a piss next to me. He looked me in the eye and said "You won't know what this means now right...but you will one day."
He then started singing "It's a staaaar man playing on the right...his name is Brandon Hanlan..and he's f@cking dynamite"
Lots of praise for our makeshift defence today, and deservedly so. Worth noting that Vale didn’t have any recognised strikers playing either though (so I understand).
Without one of Taf or Mawson back for the upcoming six-pointers we could find ourselves in trouble.
Shout outs for Vokes and McLeary. They’ve dipped in and out of form this season but both were excellent today. I’ve already called out Scowen via the MOTM thread.
@glasshalffull although the backstory had as much credibility as Lionel playing Adams Park, that was truthfully ringing out across the midlands this afternoon
Not sure if people have noticed but Bolton have played two games more than us and have to come to Adams Park in a couple of weeks time. I know it’s a big ask, but if we beat Bolton and win those games in hand then 5th place could also be within reach. Ok, I realise it’s a big ‘if’ but it’s certainly not out of the question.
If we can get our CBs back we are capable of beating anyone in this league. We have reason to believe we can make the play-offs and if the football gods smile down upon us we can do it.
Just imagine your mate at Peterborough Alan should we pip them to the final playoff spot. That would be so precious 👍👍
Agree it’s much too early to narrow this down to a battle for sixth place.
Since the horror show against Walsall, we’ve taken 22 points from 11 matches - which included a difficult looking period over Xmas with matches against a number of the division’s better sides. An outstanding effort from Gareth, Dobbo and the team.
There’s no reason really that any of the clubs in the play-off positions shouldn’t still be in our sights.
Even Ipswich. Win our game in hand and we’re 8 points behind. Across the same 11 matches they earned 18 points so we are beginning to catch up and we’ve still 18 matches left.

Now I do.

Imagine there's no Mawson
No Forino too
Imagine Taf got injured
in minute twenty two
Imagine there no defenders
away at Port vaaale
ooh ooh ooh
You may saaaay I'm a dreamer
But I think we'll win three nil
Ainsworth will live forever
and we'll be promoted from League one
Just checking in for the first time today, seems like a tough day for the ‘release McCleary and Vokes,’ gang.
floyd cups hands to ears
I've not seen one person suggest we release Vokes for anything other than pure financial reasons. Even our biggest drones can see what an asset he is.

Genius! Would love to hear fans singing this at the next game with (ahem) a slightly more polite penultimate word.

It was a joke.
Statement win. I’m seeing us in those playoffs again, I really am. In Gaz we trust.
@Manboobs we now have no centre backs..
but I also trust in Gaz
I think that is the first time I’ve give you a thumbs up on here. (Although personally I have no problem with the j censored version)
All the rosy faced young men and women are singing this @glasshalffull
Mustard put a little nutmeg in his coffee this morning.
What's the best? Mustard nutmeg or coffee
Knew I would win you over eventually and I was only joking about censorship.
Barnsley are clearly our target for a Playoff place at present.
As has been noted we have a tough run of games up to the end of the month but Barnsley’s from the end of Feb to end of Mar is a lot worse, in order
Derby (H)
Rovers (A)
Portsmouth (H)
Plymouth (H)
Wycombe (A)
Wednesday (H)
Ipswich (H)
All those games in 28 days and they still have an Exeter away game to fit in at some point.
Irritating that despite being 10 mins the extended highlights don’t include this moment.

I want a Wycombe v Peterborough play-off final
I heard we get a discount on tickets if it's Derby as their fans can't be expected to pay tax.
This made me laugh aloud. Thank you.

There’s a long, long way to go.
I'm worried we're going to get absolutely kicked off the park by Duncan Ferguson's FGR on Easter Monday
I couldn't get to the game yesterday, nor could I visit that French region beginning with a V, so I've had to rely just on the highlights.
Was the pitch at Vale genuinely as bad as it looked on film?
Grimmer Jacobson Wheeler. It’s more fun this way 😀
Has he made many signings? Or you just think he'll have Fergusoned the current lot?
Absolutely!!
