I’m conflicted on Wrexham. I should hate them. Money bags throwing cash around to win success. We hate that right? But the owners seems really decent guys and community centric. The show is great. They do pretty much everything right by the fans and the town. And Ryan Reynolds is just a likeable guy.
Surely only a matter of time before the National League is absorbed by the EFL. What's the point of a distinction between 'League' and 'Non-League' when 21/24 clubs in that division are professional?
On the other hand, I guess it wouldn't make any material difference.
Interesting one from France: Reims, who are going pretty well in Ligue 1, are getting fined 22k a game because their head coach doesn't have his pro licence yet
Recently switched to Sky Q as Sky HD box was on the blink. Was persuaded to take Netflix on a free two month trial (which has probably now expired but what the hell). Still struggling a bit with navigation and, for the life of me, cannot find Welcome to Wrexham. Advice welcome.
I now realise that going for Sky Q rather than Sky Glass was a good decision. mrs micra is struggling more than I did (and still do to some extent) to get to grips with the totally different remote control and on-screen information and guidance. Sky Glass would definitely have been a bridge too far.
I think that either way, it needs to be three up and three down. Now that we are 36-37 years into movement between the 4th and 5th tiers, the current system just creates a bottleneck for clubs trying to get back (or deservedly get to L2 for the first time).
Has anyone ever seen the half hour documentary on the Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling Race (can't remember the official name) on Netflix? That is an absolute classic.
Quite disturbing that the blonde girl has permanent damage from it. Clavicle I think?
I've done the exact opposite sort of race, up a very steep hill and just walking down it was quite disturbing. So the idea of sprinting down it is beyond worrying.
I was very impressed that she was so motivated to face her fears after that horrible injury. I felt queasy just looking at the drone shots behind the competitors as they look over the edge.
'We Are The Champions.' Thanks for the tip on the rest of the series too - was not sure if I was going to go beyond the cheese one (which was the first episode, and was specifically recommended to me). I'll probably give the rest of them a try now too.
Don't think they were all good tbh, worth a watch if you're between binge series, or just trying to avoid bleeping effing deadline day, cheese weirdos was the best.

Loved that one. And Welcome to Wrexham is excellent viewing.
Hearing the 'F**k the Tories' chant at more and more football grounds, and boxing events.
Has there ever been a more hated government than this present collection of corrupt charlatans ?
And yet Wrexham is currently a Tory seat.

They've played it the Man City way of keeping locals and journalists heavily on side.
A contrast to a lot of other "new money" type clubs, like Salford, whose rise seemed to grate on most fans.

Think someone put me right earlier, that the Wrexham show is on Disney not on Netflix.
Netflix has the "all or nothing" ones, for the likes of Tottenham (nothing being the key word).
'All or Nothing' is Prime! 😅
Netflix has "Is It Cake?". Enough said.
The Sunderland one is on Netflix
Plus some formula 1 nonsense if you're a fan of the worst sport on the planet
That's not a sport.
It's more of a sport than rugby
Kerplunk is more of a sport than Rugby.
Whoops. I had prime over Christmas only but tend to have Netflix all year round.
Must have seen it as an option over that time.

I have, it was excellent.
I thought this was worth sharing here

I started Welcome to Wrexham last night. It’s interesting that their reasons for investing were fairly similar to the Couhigs.
Not sure about that, sounds a bit cheesy
Jim Kelman signed John Regan after his audacious chip in Steve Kings benefit game played at Loakes Park.
Not Kelman's greatest signing, looked way off the required standard in the few games he played.
Yep.

How do you roll cheese UP a hill?
'Cheese Roll' made himself into Wanderers folklore at Waterlooville, As Mr Weller once sang, those walls come tumbling down.

You'd certainly have to be either young or unhinged. Or both.
A line of goons to smash you to stop your momentum always seems worrying too.
If you've not smashed yourself doing somersaults down the hill, smacking into a 15stone brute should do the trick.
Part of a series with chilli eating competitions and other oddities, very good too. Can't remember the name.
