To be fair to Kaikai, he has always given his all when he has had a chance & seems happy here, but who out of the starting XI would you drop so he could start more often?
Possibly the best defensive performance we've come up against this season, but our decision-making has been so lacking in key moments. Disappointed overall.
I absolutely loath Paterson, he is one of those horrid niggly players who is in everyones ear, especially the ref's, and regularly leaves something on the opposition, but seems to get away with it more often than not.
Pish, fair play to SW they defended really well & protected their lead, but we were disappointing in the final third, where our passing was frankly poor & GMac & Mehmeti were definitely below par.
With the best will in the world we’re not really competing with Sheffield Wednesday this season. We’re in a great position given how we started. Next two games are absolutely huge.
Indeed, we are 2 pts behind Barnsley who have 2 games in hand over us but much more importantly 6 behind Bolton who've played the same number of games. We absolutely need to win our next 2 against Bristol & PNL to keep pressure on those above us & give us a gap to those below.
I am sure that one or more of Derby, Bolton & Barnsley will have a poor run before the end of the season, so we just need to keep doing what we have done over the holiday period & we are still in with a shout.
Like Plymouth, I don’t feel we really made them work as much as they should have for that win. We certainly made them look better than they are, however solid they might be defensively. So many areas where we gave the ball away cheaply or gave away easy fouls to let them take more time off the clock.
Some really sluggish individual displays and we seemed to get worse as the game developed.
I still think we’re too inconsistent for the playoffs, but let’s see what the next few weeks bring, doesn’t seem to get any easier with Bristol, Oxford and Derby coming up.
McCleary. Maybe not always but can't be expected to play 90+ every week at his age. Kaikai barely gets a lookin regardless of form or fitness. Although we'd probably just boot it over him anyway, pass selection at times awful today.
@StrongestTeam GMac would be my choice to be replaced by Kaikai, he really looks, the last few games, as if he could do with a rest. I think at his age he needs to be at most a 60 minute player, or an 30 minute impact sub, like you not sure he can sustain 90+ week in week out any more.
Possibly. They do the less sexy side of the game well which is probably what GA can see that many fans won’t, but it strikes me a little bit as if he’s trying to detract from how poor we were in the second half by over-flattering the opposition.

Definitely - some of the best years of his career age-wise. The poor guy must be itching for a move.
Read it again...

Surely that’s last stoppage alone was about 7 minutes? So up to that point there had been no stoppage time added?
Scowen has been fantastic.

Reason behind Mehmeti for McCarthy?
I know he’s had several injury problems and as @Erroll_Sims says, who would you drop from the starting XI to give him more time?
A more positive comment would have been on that brilliant run he had just after coming on.
Hence I said he's always a threat. I'd have him over McCleary for consistency at the moment.
Another horrendous kick from Max put ourselves in that position. The last 20 we’ve really been poor
I can't remember how the Deer Hunter ended but I'm sure it reflects how I feel at the moment.
Failed to create anything because we have been completely shut out by the better team today I’m afraid. Needed to change something and we never did.
So would I on mature reflection.

Totally impotent up front. And that’s it really.

Still 7th....but the playoffs are starting to float away
Thats got to be the most contradictory sentence I've ever read. What must all the clubs below us be thinking? They've got no hope!!

Glad you bit your tongue there @Erroll_Sims !

I was amazed by the amount of hoofball Wednesday played. More than Wycombe, in fact.

Ainsworth "I think we've just played the champions"
Discuss.
It's a fair shout by GA, I think though it depends on how much further they go in the FA Cup...

I'm going to have a couple of hours away before I post... see if I calm down
