I read a lot of ex players autobiographys, and Joey Barton's is probably the only one I have got 2/3rds through but could stomach no more, for want of a better word, he is an absolute tool.
I even managed to complete Red Card Roy, by Roy Mcdonut, and unbelievably he comes across as an even bigger prick in words, than he did when we crossed swords in the 90's. The fact that I bought it in a discount bookshop possibly cleared my conscience that only a few pennies would find its way to the bufoons pockets in Spain.
Both Mcdonut and Barton have a far higher opinion of their playing ability than what there career statistics suggest.
Barton's chip on his shoulder seemed to be that he'd have a better reputation and therefore more England caps and better job opportunities if he wasn't seen as an arsehole but he seems unable to not appear to be an arsehole, or in fact not to be one for any length of time.
In reality his misdemeanors are probably the only thing keeping him noteworthy.

We've all "got on" with people we think are absolute cretins because it's the easiest thing to do.
Something about keeping your friends close and your enemies closer?
When he says £12-15k a week, is he suggesting Gareth is on that, or that we're bandying a few wages out of that level?
True, but there are absolute cretins and then there's Joey Barton.
Does seem surprising Gaz would have any real respect for him.
But he says himself one of the key lessons he learnt was from Howard - take the emotion out of the situation.
Seen many a time in his work with us
Anybody up for a bit of mid-season fancy dress? Would be fantastic to see our fans wearing neck braces when we play them at their (superior) stadium.
This constant belittling of us by vanquished foes is really quite bizarre. Can you an imagine a boxer saying after a defeat:
"Well I am 7 ft tall and he is only 5 "5, so ha ha. He also punches softly and looks silly".

Wycombe Wanderers coloured neck braces would be a great seller in the club shop.
I could use mine outside games for looking up at the thunderstorms and lightening too.

and perhaps a branded WWFC clock with an extra 6 minutes per hour
It's a great stain on the England national team that Joey Barton even won a single cap.
😭
Hopefully Gareth's other hand is clasping Barton's bettys very hard.
The mighty Rovers 0-2 down at home. Exeter's manager is in danger of getting "complimented" if he is not careful!
3-2 Exeter, lively
Opened up so well for Mehmeti there...doh,.
Then Vokes!
Is there something for us here still?
I see that Rovers managed to fcuk it up in the end, having been leading 3-2 in the 74th minute.
Lost 4-3 to a 92 minute goal.
Surely not when you prepare like Barton does
How had I forgotten about this 👇

It's bizarre how he openly criticises his players.
The classic all their goals were shit and all our goals were amazing
