As someone who has battled you previously about your seemingly bitter comments about certain handsome centre backs, I have to say fair play on those quotes immortalised for ever.
@LX1 Important issue. In my years of watching, I'd say a run-off between Andy Kerr and David McCracken: one a legend; the other a bit of a disappointment on the whole. Honourable mentions for Aaron Pierre, Will Antwi and Mike Williamson.
I do object to the male body objectification prevalent in this thread and the effect it may have for example on Joleon Lescott and his brother that used to play for Bristol Rovers
Yeah.... a bellendish aura about him... never warmed to him... always got the feeling that he felt he was Billy big bollocks. Not at all an Ainsworth player.... probably why he quickly disappeared into the abyss of non league after a positive start with us
Superb leadership skills and bravery. Made the most of his limited ability on the pitch. Played over 500 professional games and was 35 when he left us so naturally leading to the end of his career.
Adam Al Abb, was one of the finest readers of the game we've ever had, brave as a lion and a great organiser. If Adam had been blessed with a bit more pace or a few more inches in height, then i guess he would have played in the top flight.
I reckon Jamie Bates must be up there. A bloke who always looked on point and seemed to do everything with very little fuss however if he hit a ball sweetly, it stayed hit!
Williamson and Johnson probably should be the best "On paper" combo, as they both went to the Premier league, with Mawson (same) and Tafa (championship, probably higher on individual quality too.
However at the time of Williamson and Johnson, there were cries for us to sign an experienced centre back to help them out.
I think Johnson improved dramatically having left us, whereas I remember Williamson in his last 6 months here as being so ridiculously good for the division it was absolute madness fielding him. Similar to the Mawson effect.

Excellent foresight
Who is the most handsome centre back to have played for Wycombe?

When you get onto right-backs, going to be a lot of Jason Kavanagh chat on here
Tafazoli
@LX1 Keith Barrett for me.
Another man of distinction was Ian Simpemba. Good looking, so refined - shame he never got a decent run in the side.

Cousins has to be up there, appreciate he was mostly a right back.
Tough, handsome, would feel safe with him
I've said too much.
It’s clearly Taff, isn’t it?
Left back Mark Hill was a model. (Ed. Early 80s)
@Chris Tries too hard.
No-one is beating Stuart "disco muscles" "Central in all the celebration photos" Castledine overall though are they?
Adam El Abd had something about him.
@Chris This sort of thing?
LOL

El Abd played 72 games for us many as Ainsworth's team captain. Seems Ainsworth thought he was an Ainsworth player....
@Alexo Never got that impression at all.
Strange how suddenly he left though.
he was a key part of our 16/17 promotion. Some players just fall off a cliff at the end of their career.
It wasn’t pace.
I thought he had a certain Egyptian mystique, until he gave his first interview...

There’s a lot of competition, with some who played many more games, but I think Jamie is my all time favourite central defender for us.
Bates and McCarthy in my opinion were the best ever pairing we have had.
Assume this is more in relation to the commend about El Abd being a fine reader of the game? Surely not one for the handsome gents debate?
As a combination they would take some beating.

I'm definitely among the number who didn't really rate Williamson until the end of his time with us.
I only had eyes for Roger really.
