I dont think he's ever been in it to pump and dump and profit, but perhaps saw the managing the club as being far more sustainable than it has been.
Ultimately, it's been patently obvious to everyone for decades that running a club is pooring money down the drain, and now he's realised it's completely unsustainable unless there are other draws to AP.
The shocking thing is how they came in all smiles, dropped in some overpriced burgers and unnecessary fireworks, and then have been surprised that a town in High Wycombe doesn't sell out the stadium every week.
The access road is a pipedream - it has been for 30 years and will remain so. Without that additional access/egress, the capacity is capped at 10k. Therefore there's no benefit in expanding as the club won't be allowed to sell the extra tickets. So all that talk of spend on new build is hypothetical and without supporting evidence. But, the roof on the FA stand is single-skin and has a circa 30 year life - so that's in need of renewal. The Valley Terrace was not well-built and needs serious remedial work too; ditto the pitch. All of that is cost. But frankly, the Couhigs' 'big ideas' to increase revenue seem utterly half-baked. I also wonder where a decent trial lawyer actually got the money to buy the club in the first place - does he have backers he needs to pay off?
can anyone say how much debt we are in if any? Do we owe money to creditors? Can we pay our tax bills?
What proof do we have that Rob can pay for a pitch and an access road or is that all to come from money he thinks we’ll get back from being promoted? Or is someone made enough to lend him money based on the assumption we’ll be promoted?
In short- how close to going bust are we? How transparent is the business plan for the improvements Rob wants to make?
I really can’t understand why if we are in such a financial state that we would really think we can spend bucket loads of money on replacing under soil heating. The pitch looks good and surely we can go on with the annual surface repairs to minimise spend.
I am also still having problems understanding why an access road out towards West Wycombe will mean a sudden rise in the fan base. We are what we are ‘a lovely small town in Bucks’, we not a big city team in a massive catchment area. We really cannot sustain Championship football and we are punching above our weight in League 1 really.
What now then? I can certainly see why the Couhigs have been silent this season if they've finally realised it's not an easy job. If true and RC has been unhappy with people asking questions over a slated Q+A session and noting that he could just pull the money, then I very much fear for the future of this club. So much for being "sustainable" - seems as though they are full of sh*t just like Steve Hayes.
I genuinely don't think the percentages or lease really matter if we aren't retaining controlling stakes. It's what happens if it goes tits up. But they picking only nice questions over zoom.
Getting some sympathy in Zoom chat but ultimately hopelessly under prepared
25% can legally block a lot of things at AGM/EGMs. 24.9% is a problem. "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Steve Hayes (or someone else)
Good to know, I just mean that in terms of value if we fast forward a few years and end up cut off we'd probably have to accept any offer on the table again.
You'd have to have led a very sheltered life if you are calling this place a cesspit. I've been on forums where people have had genuine threats of violence made against them.

Only 5 points off the playoffs.....Only 5 points off the playoffs......Only five points off the playoffs..........
I am not even able to get in the meeting and I am thoroughly depressed. I can only imagine how it is for those of you with a golden ticket.
It sounds like a line has been crossed tonight.
No wonder Bloomers and the goalkeeper coach left.
Flog Anis and Chris F for 10 mill in January and we’re laughing, academy a triumph, Rob a visionary genius.
and back on planet Earth….

Surely the Trust should have done far more due diligence.

You can just imagine the banter at training at Marlow Road tomorrow morning. Players phoning agents to get them out before the roof falls in etc etc.
Maybe Couhig to the jungle? Surely he's worth a Hancock: He's a non-entity, get him out of here.
Asking genuinely- what is the benefit for him of the lease being lowered to 50 years?
If there was a duplicity here, what is he gaining?

I think that banter has been there for a while. It might explain some recent perfomances.
can sell on with zero/low rent for a long time

So maybe hiring a family member to be Chief Financial Officer isn’t always the best idea.

Thats a mental picture I could live without
Perhaps that's a better explanation for why there's one fewer Couhig around this season.
You have a point there.

Does anyone have Blake Lively's number? She might enjoy being two divisions higher than her husband?
Potd

There will always be a Wycombe Wanderers.
But it would be prudent to make sure that people who care for the club have plans in place in case the worst happens.
If they don't matter and we retain controlling stakes, why is it on the table? If we final say, why would he want to lower the lease?

Keep up the good work, guys! https://twitter.com/ChrisCooper_22/status/1590453182727352321?t=y99Rj4FAsykniETicebUrw&s=19
Now we know why the summer window was so poor. Gaz had no money, but kept quiet about it.

Having endured 150 minutes of this tortuous zoom call, I reckon it's just as well we're retaining full ownership of the stadium.
