@Brownie I thought I'd share this story with you. My mate saw your name on the message board over my shoulder whilst I was having a peak at the Gasroom during a football tournament at Holmer Green today.
Just seen the highlights back and I must say I have a real problem with a centre half rolling around on the floor when he clearly wasn't hurt.
I want a centre back who is strong, stands up under pressure and leads the team. I think we have four in our squad but that Fleetwood guy was a disgrace.
Obviously the incident isn't on camera but it looks to me like McCleary got done over. Almost scripted by the reaction of the bench.
We were all in line with the incident, but most were focusing on Max’s kick. However, it was clear that GMac and Baker has been tussling from the off. An arm went up, the player went down. Linesman flagged, red card inevitable.
Very odd red card in some ways. When the whistle goes Gma seems more exasperated than anything else, none of the other Fleetwood players get involved as i'd hope ours would if a team mate had just been lamped, as the Fleetwood player gets up as soon as the card is produced.
However, the ref seems to have had a clear view, and had no hesitation sending GMac off.
This could be 20/20 hindsight but it feels as though a Garath McCleary red card has been brewing for a while. It feels to me at least as though he's been getting involved in far more little incidents than he has for us before
Not what i'm saying at all. The ref gave a straight red and GMac apologized so obviously it was the right decision. Just surprising how low key it looks on the highlights.
Not sure about the Gmac part. He's a skillful guy who is quite unusual in that he matches it with work rate. Not sure if he's really an "on the edge" type you always worry about it spilling over .
Au contraire jeune homme, I don’t see why he shouldn’t command a similar fee.
Two pints, sorry, points. @Malone asked recently whether the frequent editing of my posts suggests that I have problems using other parts of the internet. All I can say is that I’ve had many a stressful (and swear-riddled) hour trying to cope with things on the internet that are beyond my ken.
My multi-faceted OCD means that I am punctilious about getting my Gasroom posts “right”. After posting I read them and modify them as I think fit.
I’m in a slightly silly mood and, after spotting @ReturnToSenda’s typo, I lapsed into faux pompous mode. I was tickled by what autocorrect came up with when I typed ‘jeune’ - Heineken. Heineken man indeed. 🍺
Deliberately not understanding what was said just to make a dig. Peak @eric_plant
I hate centre backs rolling around fake injured. That was clear from the footage. That was what I posted. What McCleary did is irrelevant to that. The player didn't need treatment and is a disgrace to the persona of a centre back I was bought up with. If McCleary's whack was worthy of a sending off then fair enough. It just wasn't worthy of that reaction. I hate it.
Believe you me @Malone if I applied it to the Gasroom constantly I would get nothing else done. There are dozens of misspellings and grammatical errors daily on the Gasroom. I don’t recall picking up too many in recent times but, if you can be arsed to point out one or two, I will happily either explain my motivation and/or concede that I was out of order, as appropriate, and apologise to the poster(s) concerned.
listen guys I don’t want to pull the “I’ve supported the club since “ but we will be top eight at Christmas. A point away after GMac commits harikari guarantees it.

Is there absolutely no footage of the GMac incident?
Probably a good thing. Deny til you die.

He asked "is that @Brownie , Steve Brown?"
"Obviously not", I replied.
Turned around....who was stood behind us?
THE Steve Brown!!!!
Couldn’t agree more with that post.

He apologized for letting everyone down, if the guy had dived after being brushed rather than being twatted he wouldn't have done that.
it happens, Probably could do with the rest.

I thought that was fat Sam
Sadly I can confirm I am not THE Steve Brown, but it's exciting to know that my posts have the ability to summon the man himself!
Good point bearing in mind the circumstances. Next two, very winnable games which puts us back in the mix before some tasty fixtures.

"I didn't see it and it wasn't on camera but the referee was wrong" is peak RITM

My understanding was flagged by the line assistant Ref.

It wasn't a related to what you said

Mark my words @LX1 - I haven’t a 🕵️♀️ Clue.

Has Steve Browne moved into the area from his Northamptonshire roots ?
My mate saw him in the Plough at Casden, last week.
It wasn't anything about the editing of posts.
It was your need to constantly pick up spells and grammar on here. If you apply that to the greater internet, you won't get much else done!

How is it irrelevant what he did? It’s really relevant isn’t it if he caught him properly? Or are you saying the footage is that clear?
The way McCleary wandered off without even a semblance of a protest speaks volumes.
I've booked train tickets too was going to ask aswell before doing so. Wouldn't of bothered now.
Couldn't get any for Derby due to a rail strike. Oxford and Mk away ok or a chance of them getting called off?
Thanks.
Enjoyed the Wycombe version of the old Liverpool “Touré” chant for Tafa and Alfie yesterday.
