It is a tricky fixture for the management after our dodgy start with serious wig flipping potential from the fanbase, first with team selection and then if we lose. As I have paid their wages on WanderersTV tonight, I hope they don't let me down.
The fact that we are playing with no striker, and both Mellor (who did nothing wrong Saturday) and Ali are on the bench... to me, says what the management think about them..... so, as well as another keeper we need another forward if Vokes and Hanlan are injured
Wheeler up front? bit of sentiment probably as he scored lots of goals down there, very attacking side in general and we know he'll run non stop, might work.
I guess if Wheeler is indeed starting up top, it means we will revert to our ‘usual’ style as it Vokes was playing. To be fair, Wheeler is decent in the air so let’s see if we can get some good balls into the box tonight.

What on Earth is going on with our players being constantly injured. Thompson disappeared months ago, no idea what his situation is. Vokes and Taf injured, with what and how. It ticks me off being a paying ‘customer’ of nearly 30 years that we are deliberately left in the dark regarding injuries, I don’t see the problem with a more open approach.
I’m probably in the minority but I don’t think Mellor ( up front) was that great Saturday, and I actually think playing Wheeler up front is a better option…he is brilliant in the air.
Well @MBS you are risking it challenging the code of silence. Obviously Vokes, Tafazolli, Hanlan, KaiKai, Thompson McCarthy have all fallen into a big black hole and we mustn’t talk about it or Rob will take away our Season tickets 😉
Management taking another risk with lack of a goalkeeper and and striker signings.Hopefully we will pull this off today. Not a good start if we lose 3 out of the first 4 games and a tough away fixture on Saturday.
Hopefully the risk the management are taking with the line-up/goalkeeper (not to mention their silence about injuries we pay not to watch) will not prove a risk too far hopefully.

GA stated on Saturday that Taff and Vokes were injured and that was repeated on the club’s preview of tonight’s game.

You shouldn't take it so personally, It's not you who is being deliberately being kept in the dark, it's the opposition.
Tough on D’Mani (and AAH, De Barr and Parsons) but Wheels won’t let us down.

Wonder if it’s McCleary or Mehmeti up front - either in a pressing forward role (Gmac) or a link up / false nine role (Mehmeti).
Wheeler is only excellent in the air if he’s up against a full back. Against a centre half, the height differential trumps his jumping reach.

I thought Wheeler was excellent when he played up front against Norwich at Carrow Road.
Cant defend not going and getting another striker in now. 2 on the bench and starting with a midfielder up top
