Some people really do like stirring rubbish on twitter over why Gareth wasn't at the game last night. It does make my stomach turn when people just post rubbish like this
It might be a joke but when its first comment on the twitter post after being directed there from the BBC Sport's report, it doesn't give the right message and wrong image of who GA actually is
For the sake of clarity and the sanity of fellow Gasroomers: Ex Oxford and Luton penalty launcher, gobshite and walking red card Diving Danny was a Northampton sub.
Nick Freeman has always been an outstanding talent and rightly lauded by most. But how do we accommodate him and at who’s expense has largely been the problem. Answers on a postcard
Apparently Northampton struggled because they had eight plyers in the starting line up that were 24 or under but we started with eight aged 22 or under so it's hardly a reason.
I heard but nothing confirmed that he had to miss the game for “family reasons” We all hope if that is the case that it’s nothing too serious and perhaps the idiot who posted on Twitter might want to reflect on that
We dumper the diamond (hooray!!) and tweaked the 4-2-3-1 we’ve generally played over the last 20 odd matches so that we had one holding midfielder (Young) and two attacking ones (Freeman and Horgan).
So it was more of a 4-1-4-1 formation. It worked well and the Cobblers really struggled to cope with both Freeman and Horgan.
If Gaz's preferred system is a the 4-2-3-1 we've generally seen, then we can't. He doesn't get in over Anis, Horgs/Wing or GMac. Remove Gape any play Freeman as a DLP? I don't think that really works with our approach. Some players are nice to have but just don't fit.
I thought EL Hamadi looked pretty nippy and did quite a few decent skilful runs with the ball, Freeman gliding around with great control.
De Barr has great hustle and aggression but maybe just not enough to cut it for us at the level we're at now.
Thought Wakeley looked seriously shaky, lucky to not get booked for dragging his man down at one stage, a few scuffed clearances etc.
Pattenden gave a really clumsy free kick away in a dangerous position, checked someone for a booking, and it was his slice I'm pretty sure that led to us giving the pen away as we were breached.
Maybe this is an age thing, and youngsters think this sort of thing is a great lark, and top banter, but at my age I think this is pathetic stuff, and can only do harm, as some halfwits will believe it.
If that’s the modern version of a joke then thank goodness I’m an old dinosaur. It’s pathetic that some people spend their time thinking up rubbish like that.
Anyone outside the club might. There's nothing about it to suggest it's a joke as that would require some level of wit - so if it's not a joke, what would suggest to someone who's not familiar with what a good person Ainsworth is, that it's anything other than serious?
I'm fortunate enough not to have to have any dealing with twitter, although I'm aware for some it is a useful or even necessary means of communication.
However, isn't this comment on twitter, about GA, merely the modern equivolent of some purile individual scribbling graffiti on the back of the toilet door - something which many of us of an older generation might have seen?
As such it's worth no more than "Johnny came here", i.e. nothing. Too insignificant to even get upset or shocked about.
It takes just one stupid comment or "joke" to cause someone's career and standing within that profession to take a hit and then they'll be seen in a different light. In our world and community today, people are guilty of doing something like this before anyone looks at the facts.
How would you feel if this was written about you and your wife / partner had read it? Suddenly a rock solid relationship could have a drop of doubt that could increase in size over time. If someone posted this about me, I'm be fuming

Back after 1 myself.
A43 closed, M1 South Junction closed and just for giggles to top off a mad drive, the Loudwater m40 junction closed too!

Sounds like Pattenden could be a real find 🤞🤞. I see that ‘Diving Danny’ came on as sub 🤦🤦.
Granted, it's not very funny, but it's quite clearly a joke. No one's stirring anything.
Got quite the reception...

Player of the season last season for a team that trounced us 5-1 (Wing) a few weeks ago. Big signing. Pattenden, that is.
Why does this keep jumping up the thread? Am I being cyberstruck? Might be the way I was holding the phone (left thumb near volume control) ?

Better @micra ?
Excellent @StrongestTeam. Give him the full treatment.

(breath not being held)
Last night’s formation worked well for him.

It's funny how we see the games differently.

ps Dickinson pretty decent last night. And I've been quite near the front of the "what the heck are we doing not bringing a top keeper in" queue.

It's not funny at all - it's pathetic.
It is pathetic - so much so that surely no one would seriously believe it?
Judging by the cost of everything else in Marlow, I doubt even Pep Guardiola's salary would stretch to the cost of a Marlovian lady of the night !!

The fact that it's from some rando on Twitter. I guess I'm wrongly assuming everyone clocks these things easily.

Half the gasroom believed Taff was dropped because of a pissup in Marlow after some idiot tweeted it.
This is a very fair point

Totally agree. Scurrilous and puerile at best and potentially libellous, perhaps.
Sorry not funny therefore not a joke. Social media trolling. Unacceptable
