The BO rings true in this heat but mrs micra’s not mentioned it so I think we can knock that one on the head. My last beer was a Singha at a Thai restaurant in Missenden on Sunday and I rate Tyla. Apart from that, I think it’s a good shout by @drcongo.
Sounds like we’re performing well which is encouraging especially as there are only three regular first teamers, one of whom is playing only his second game in about a year.
Sam Hoskins is likely to be brought on early in the second half for Northampton and possibly also Diving Danny. Against that, we’ve got Mehmeti, Wing and Gape waiting in the wings.
Some nice cameos towards the end, this is a good talented squad with good prospects, Mehmeti and Freeman coming at anyone will scare the bejezus out of them. Parsons the same given some time.
Well that was pretty good, some really good performances from some of the fringe players and a big boost for everyone after Saturday.
Forino was excellent. Great news. Grimmer too when he came on Wakely did ok. Defensive situation looking a bit better now
De Barr, Mellor and AAH all showed they have a bit to offer after, I thought, some disappointing comments on here about their prospects following the Bolton game.
Im sure quite a few Northampton fans reckon we’ve got a pretty good young goalkeeper on our books
Pattenden showed he’s definitely made of the right stuff, very promising performance as a makeshift right back. Put himself about a bit. Parsons quite lively too when he came on.
Finally, Nick Freeman was simply terrific. So much class. Great to see him back and playing like he’s never been away.
Mellor's goal. Would be great in the long term if these two formed a good partnership with each other in attack. They already seem to have a decent understanding judging by the flick and Mellor's run.
Really promising as I thought we might get turned over with that team. No Gaz tonight then - night off gigging? Dicko made 8 saves tonight. Will do his confidence a world of good. Ready for the Freeman hype machine to start now !!
He did fine. Wakely and Forino dealt with the Northampton frontline fairly comfortably really. It got a little bit hairier once both had been removed as we lacked a bit of size at the back.
He’s a big lad and two- footed, hence he can play left or right. Had a couple of slightly uncomfortable moments but he’s inexperienced and that will happen.
Certainly good enough to be 4th choice CB at this point. Will benefit from getting at least two more first team games before the end of August in the second round of the Carabao and in the Trophy match with Spurs U21s.
Agree with all of that. I’m sure had the game been on WanderersTV there would be a load of the usual suspects on here saying he’s non-league, but no, he was decent.
Just back thanks to Highways Agency deciding to close the A43 without telling anyone beforehand. Agree with all the comments, Dickinson looked confident and assured, Freeman is better than he was before his injury and once he’s match fit he’s going to be a key player this season, and Pattenden was superb.
Comments
From Phil's commentary seems Dickinson, Forino, JJ, Horgan & Pattenden are all having good games
Just click on ignore
Forino really does look a class act. Surprise of the evening so far is Pattenden who is playing really well at right back.
Freeman absolute class.
No, Mrs micra wouldn't let him go out with BO!
Funnily enough, @Chris, I thought you might be !

Forino saved for Saturday, or just limited to 45, Does look good though.
Spot on as usual @mooneyman !
And Jack Grimmer.
I forgot how much you like your baths @micra
Only the galvanised irony ones.
Sounds like Tyla Dickinson's distribution is much better tonight, he seems to be getting incrementally better gme by game
Nice move for the second goal, Tjay and Mellor linking up well.
get the Wembley merch sorted
Oh dear JJ
Penalty for Northampton
Gives us an intersting last 15
Very few on here will know what a tin bath is
Young Jacobson showing his inexperience?
Wing showing defensive qualities?

From @bluntphil's commentary sounded like Pattenden had a really good game, along with Freeman, JJ (other thna the pen), Dickenson & Horgan.
Glad Forino had a solid 45min run out, lets hope that sets him up for a return on Saturday.
Certainly hope so @Erroll_Sims.

For those that were there, what was Wakely like? Was he ok or will he be someone to be loaned out to make way for someone else?
Really promising as I thought we might get turned over with that team. No Gaz tonight then - night off gigging? Dicko made 8 saves tonight. Will do his confidence a world of good. Ready for the Freeman hype machine to start now !!
Wouldn't like to have to watch that every week.
Better in the air than on the floor, almost got caught a couple of times. Not sure tbh.
