Couple of articles like this one from January that suggested he was close to a come back then. He doesn't seem to have played at all last season though.
Apparently an ECG test in pre-season last summer identified a serious heart condition which could easily have proved fatal. I could find nothing on-line to indicate whether he has had surgery but he is quoted in the Glasgow Daily Record (14 January 2022) as being optimistic that 2022 would be a much better year after one in which he had suffered anger, depression, sadness and loneliness.
I can find no information about how this year is in fact panning out. Just hope he’s in a better place (in the figurative sense! No better place than Glasgee).
I do recall that, during the Championship season, he returned (in February, I think) and played several games. In one, he was led off the field after winding up on the deck without there having been any obvious contact with another player. Remarkably, he played again, if not in the next match, soon after. Perhaps subsequent events are a clue as to why he was able to return so quickly. Let’s hope things really are looking up for Nnamdi.
That is interesting and kudos to him for sure. But I don't think he was ever a starting captain for us. Whether that is 'cos we always had other leaders ahead of him or whether the management didn't seem him in that role is interesting.
There's no correlation between captaincy and footballing ability. And it is possible that Stewart will be good for Aberdeen and we'll be perfectly fine without him. No point dwelling on it - we simply couldn't compete with Aberdeen's offer.
It's the place to be if you're an ex-Wycombe player from the last 10-15 years! McGleish, Benyon, Mascoll, Umerah... Probably others I'm forgetting right now.

Remeber him getting a few vital goals for us
Someone posted this on Facebook: (excuse the awful website)
Tyson to play on with Grantham, Which I believe is where we got Martin O'Neill from.

Anyone know of the wellbeing or otherwise of Namdi Ofoborh?

He was mentioned in an article by The Athletic four weeks ago as 'still going through tests related to a heart condition.'
The poor guy sounds like he's going through an awful time of it.

Anthony Stewart captain for the first 60 of an Aberdeen pre season friendly. Only positive comments about him on socials so far.
That’s really great to hear @niebieski .
Anthony Stewart named Aberdeen captain
Fair play to him, I think he’ll be a good captain.
Another blow to the ‘he wasn’t that good/we don’t need him,’ crowd.

Wish him only good things.
Must have impressed them, good on him.
How?
I'm surprised by it, never struck me as captain material - but there you go!
How so?
I think it poses more questions of why was he never deemed "general" material despite being here the best part of 10 years.
Got a big announcement on Twitter too
Delighted for Anthony. Great defender. Great guy. Total respect.
Seconded !
I reckon the captain of an SPL team could probably do a job in L1, despite the idea that he’d fallen behind Forino in the pecking order.
Not sure if this article has been posted on here previously but I can't imagine Gareth "urging" a player to leave.

it's certainly an indication he is expected to start most games.
Yes I'm not sure many people took that extreme. Although it is the gasroom!
Lovely words from Gaz.
Seeing his ‘quotation’ on the Aberdeen web site it sounds like Tools had taken a screen shot of all the ‘motivational epithets’ around Marlow Road.
Win away at Motherwell. Loose at home to Rangers: “never too high, never too low”.
There's no being loose under Stewart's watch.
