There's a tram stop in Nottingham called Beaconsfield Street. The on-tram announcement, voiced by someone with a Nottingham accent, pronounces it as Bee-cons-field Street and after 15 years of using the tram, it still sounds wrong to me.
@ReturnToSenda Can you use the man's actual name, please. Whenever I see "AAH" I think it is referring to Aaron Amadi-Holloway, which left me somewhat confused about why you "really, really" want to see him do well.
What's in the article I linked - his dad imprisoned by Saddam's regime, having to flee Iraq etc. None of our players will have had it as tough as him. Some story.
Harvey the lad from Eastleigh? Have spotted him in training pics but not sure if we'll give him a contract or he'll just be a 'training keeper' like Henry Newcombe
It's incredible how stacked we are in attack, and all of them bar Freeman (who I've included there as he can play wide/10 but you'd probably consider more a midfielder now) have arrived in the last two years

I lived on a Beaconsfield Road in north London, everyone on the street correctly pronounced it as "beckons field" as did the posties.
I wouldn’t hear it any other way @drcongo.
I hope it had a model village

@arnos_grove that’s because it is wrong. ‘Ave a word.
Taking this as a hint that AAH is in the first team plans for this season. Really, really want to see him thrive after what he's been through to get here. https://twitter.com/wwfcofficial/status/1542487566146043909
Every time someone writes AAH I think they're talking about Aaron Amadi-Holloway!

Ok I'll just call him Ali in future 😂
Can't you just re-set your thinking for those initials to apply for a player we own, rather than one who left about 5 years ago? 😉
My first thought was also Aaron Amadi Holloway, and I was surprised he would be in anyone’s first team plans next season.
Mine too.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Ali and he’s a great, bubbly character. If his football talent matches his personality he’ll be a big success.
PS What were you referring to when you said ‘after what he’s been through’ ?

Thanks, I didn’t know that and I was unable to open the link. My respect for Ali is now even greater.
Ah, not sure what happened there - here's the interview: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48218007
Thanks again, fascinating story.

Really good stuff. I’ve seen rumours about Bishop for GK. Harvey??
Looking at our permitted squad , you could see people likely Wakeley and Connor going out on loan to create room for signings
Harvey the lad from Eastleigh? Have spotted him in training pics but not sure if we'll give him a contract or he'll just be a 'training keeper' like Henry Newcombe
Or Yates that we seemed to have for ages but no-one ever saw anything of him
Thanks for doing this. I'd guess that Freeman, Wakely and Parsons will be the most likely candidates to be loaned out.
I’d be pushing to get Wheeler off the wage bill to be honest.
Remember players can be over 21 and on the books without being included in the league squad.
i would think there will be 1st team squad signing or two to come yet.
Wheels can play in about five different positions, worth every penny.
You really seem to have it in for Wheels for some reason
I agree, that kind of versatility is hard to find and Gaz clearly rates him highly.
Very versatile and almost never gets injured - if he's happy here, he'll stay. He's our James Milner.
KaiKai could be struggling for game time unfortunately. Actually thought he looked decent at times
