Firstly what a pleasure it is to have the brother of a true Wanderers legend on this forum.
1, It's not Vinny
2, It's not Budgie, but this chap played a number of times with your brother as John ended his career, whilst the player in question was beginning his.
How long was John an outfield player before he moved in between the sticks ?
I had Dave Burgess as the guy in the striped team photo, at the back next to the guy in the flat cap... Just shows the level of my observation skills!!
Ah thank you, I don’t normally post on here , but enjoy all the threads and comments.
John played in goal from about aged 15 . I imagine this is a Witney and District team from the mid fifties. He was an ok outfield player …remember watching him play a few 6-a-sides.
@Steve_Peart Was just about to suggest Steve Long as well. Not a player talked about much these days, but had a decent spell with us during a period where the club's fortunes were fairly underwhelming (one Isthmian League title and Trophy semi-final notwithstanding).

Yes Alec Norman is far right of the back row, playing for Hithercroft as a junior.
Yes number 5 is John 'Corncircle'.
