I played hockey there against Imperial College back in the 1960s. It was OK but nothing special. I agree that finding professional football clubs that have more money than sense to lease the facility (on ICL's terms) and want to pay for improvements is a very slick piece of business.
Well I think its safe to say that training has been disrupted today due to the fire at the sub-station that supplies Heathrow & surrounding areas with power! On the plus side, at least we don't have a game tomorrow!
Just walk along the footpath between those two fields. This is the one to the south. I'm sure it isn't beyond the wit of man to turn it into football pitches but it is currently 60% rocks so wouldn't have thought we'd be moving there any time soon, and that's assuming we'd get through the lengthy planning process.
Isn't this why we're signing so many teens for the academy - a labour force to remove the rocks? If they want to play professional football they've got to work hard for it. Ainsworth had his haka - maybe this is Sam Grace's way of building character and camaraderie?
I think people are missing the point with the academy being prime location at Harington. We can attract more talent there and is much more easy to get to with transport links. How would a kid get from west london get to Marlow road without his parents taking time off work to drive them and pick them up?
Driving passed Marlow Road the last couple of days it's hard to tell exactly what they're doing. Potentially digging up and laying a new pitch, or extending the carpark. 🤣
There's a small number of diggers and loaders and such like plant machinery.
I guess this is based on the fact we are supposedly moving after only a few months there. I think perhaps it was always a stop gap until we found something more permanent as we’ve had issues with Marlow Road for years, training at Bisham for example in bad weather.
I had a look through the gates today, it does look as if they might be doing something interesting there. Maybe an indoor covered training centre for the first team? Not too sure but it looks interesting. I did think about getting a drone up for some ‘work in progress’ images but I’m not a ‘public auditor’!
Doesn’t feel like housing but definitely flattening down a large area of the space.

When renting a property always best to ask why the last tenant left, oh and the one before that. Once is unfortunate, twice is ……..
Max, McCarthy and Vokes certainly did, but don't now.... any others?
Wonder if we still own that house and let it out to 4-5 players. Or are we far too rich these days?

We blaming Dan Rice for that?
As it might be Russian sabotage I think we should go with Vyshnyakov even though it's Ukranian.

Did he park his Tesla round there?
Surely that'll be excellent training and prep for all those games in the winter months when all the pitches turn to crap. Like Bradford last season!

Brings back memories of a pitch in Marlow near the Thames.
The team had to pick flints off the pitch pre game and often filled buckets up!
Yes, that and dog poo.

I think the problem is that while Harlington might be great for an academy it's absolutely not been right for the first team squad.
I might be being thick but why is it “absolutely not been right for the first team squad”?

Burying the Danes.......
I think they are just getting the pitches in alignment.
It's Beeks building houses.
Just building a few tunnels, nothing sinister

I think it's the groundwork for his magnificent mausoleum!
Ainsworth meeting the owner of Gillingham.....
so it wasn't an access road couhig was building but an access tunnel
Is that in the Perpetuity Wing at Lumon?

Isn’t it likely to be another fancy pitch with undersoil heating like the one recently put in at Harlington?
