anyone else a bit concerned about the state of the pitch? Seemed to have been a drastic deterioration since the last game with bobbles all over the place
Would be a shame because it's looked like a carpet since the first game until now
Let's hope the groundstaff can work their magic on the pitch; though we need to remember that we are overdue the pitch being relaid having failed to do it in the summer.
i was agreeing with you, its a lie that people are saying he said transfers are all on the board, he says its a with the director him and the recruitment team
I thought someone had said he made those comments in his post match interview on Saturday. I could very well be wrong about that, and I'm not re-reading the thread to find it.
Anyway having just listened to it he clearly didn't (although there may be a longer clip somewhere?).
Having said that, even if MB did say something to the effect like "any new signings are on the board" he might simply mean that he and the team have identified players and now it's down to the board to negotiate to bring the players in. Quite frankly that would be entirely sensible since his priority must be to work with the players he has to bring about a change in results.
So much can be made out of almost any comment, especially if it's misquoted - which happens deliberately aometimes I'm sure. Far better to include the actual video/audio when referring to what's been said. Even then you need to know the context in which the comment was made to even begin to understand what it means.
However I don't think you can say it's complete made up lie either without evidence, that merely remains an opinion. It would be an opinion I agree with in the absence of any evidence to the contrary.
Drysdale is awful, but I aways get the impression he's a bit of a homer ! So seeing as we're at home hopefully he'll give decisions in our favour tomorrow
We've had him once, Blackpool away. He missed the assault on Harvie (I think?) that led to their first equaliser and a subsequent three match ban for their lad that was given after the game. So yes, he was crap
I appreciate that when a ref drops a clanger and then gets to ref the same team again, there can be a certain 'awkwardness'. But this appointment seems exceptionally ill-judged given that it's the same opponents as well. And it wasn't even a small 'clanger' - he was suspended as a result of a wrong decision which literally affected the result of the game. There is now way too much pressure on the ref, and he becomes the focus of attention, which in Drysdale's case might be considered a little ironic.
I actually think refs are much less noticeable at our level generally (speaking as someone who watches on TV) as you don't get the 37 angles that the PL shows. So it takes more to stand out as a poor reffing job. Most of them are pretty decent, I think.
@Malone I’m not advocating removing him, or not giving him Wycombe games (although if I had a personal choice…). I was suggesting that a bit of sensible, tactical scheduling would have avoided the same ref reffing the same fixture, two seasons running, when there was a controversial game-changing mistake made last time out which was considered bad enough for said ref to be suspended from the following weekend’s fixtures.

Four games in 9 days earlier this month and the freezing weather/ undersoil heating probably killed the pitch.
After tomorrows game it has a three week rest and should be back to a better condition if the weather is not too bad.
Sorry, are you saying that he’s lying and that it really is “all on the board”?
Or that someone is spreading a lie that he said it’s all on the board?
if it’s the former then I’d like to see/hear the evidence.

It's Darren Drysdale tomorrow...
The Zidane tribute act?
Really? After the game at Oakwell last season? That seems like a provocative appointment.
There were certainly a few people who seemed to lose their footing. That probably explains the lack of silky skills on display on Saturday....
(Straw clutching...)
Undersoil heating is great for getting games on but utterly horrendous for the durability of the pitch, especially when it’s on for days at a time.
The game where Max screwed us over and ended his Wycombe career?
Ok, I clearly have a rubbish memory as he played many more times after that, but it was *that* game.

I've said enough.
Haven't we had Drysdale already this season and he was crap again?

But once you start purposely having to remove refs from certain teams it gets a bit messy.
A ref is either worthy of the division they operate in, or not. If not, remove them entirely.
All referees give us everything and the opposition nothing...it's the fan forum law
