I’m absolutely bewildered by that post. Some of the other posts have also had me blinking and rubbing my eyes.
I’m borderline neutral in the culpability stakes. Why MB and DR weren’t able to come to an understanding is beyond comprehension. Well, mine anyway.
MB’s outstanding, unprecedented and possibly now unmatchable success needs no qualification based on his “not having won anything”. He won 16 or 17 matches on the trot for God’s sake.
Out of the numerous potential candidates for the post of Head Coach that I’ve seen on here, few if any, seem likely to be able to emulate MB’s achievements. Not because of incompetence on their part. Just the time it takes to adjust to new ideas and attitudes.
As I’ve said elsewhere, adjusting to a new approach and, for example, having to integrate three or four new signings into the squad will take too long in my opinion for the same impetus to be maintained for the rest of the season.
Of course I would love to be proved wrong but it’s just so sad that this situation had to arise in the first place.
Only joking 👍👍. However, I really wish none of this sad scenario had happened. I have a nagging feeling this is all going to derail us after a fantastic first half to the season.
It has been amusing reading some of those mocking the idea that the club could have had a pre-existing target now saying it is perfectly normal to have a pre-existing target - which of course it is. It was never the "smoking gun" in the situation either way without knowing motive (and that would never be agreed on). But it's still funny.
I wasn’t entirely joking when I said recently that Evatt might move next door to Sharon and he’s now 12/1 in the betting. To be fair he probably needs a new challenge and given where you are in the table it could work out well for you both?
I liked the idea that we've had Razmus and pal as our target, have lined them up then have realised we couldn't get them until March and then realised they didn't want to come anyway.
Dunno, but it is fairly well known the Brittan boys, her sons, used to be home and away Wycombe followers until, possibly, allegedly, maybe one got banned for a bit.
They now just sponsor our Terrace (whites of Beaconsfield) and cut our Hong Kong bound centre backs hair.
Maybe she’s just called Sharon in an attempt to distance ourselves from each other.
Yep the Teef Boys and Revs is basic Wycombe knowledge. Just the "Sharon" bit I wondered about but never calling Evatt "Ian" or suchlike. Unless they're likening her to that other famous Sharon Osbourne, which could be harsh!
I’d be interested to hear that interview as it’s the complete opposite of what he said in his pre match interview with the sky studio (David Prutton, Jobi McAnuff, etc.). He said he was working together with the board, recruitment team, etc. on transfers.
And when they asked him about the decision to leave Wycombe he said how hard a decision it was because of his connection with the supporters and the players. No mention of the club hierarchy - make of that what you will…
He then went on to repeat what he’s mentioned in pretty much every interview, that he had to take the opportunity to move where he felt wanted and could work collaboratively with people who wanted to involve him in the decision making process (not exactly what he said, just roughly what my fading memory can recall).
That's a bit disingenuous. Had he been offered a contract extension here he would been on a considerably better salary + a promotion bonus (or at least should have been)

Could also have Schmeichel the dog from Corrie
Afternoon guys. It is afternoon, isn’t it?

Right up there with Grandad and the chandelier. TV heritage.

Don't even joke about it

Is there some reason or even injoke why you and others constantly refer to her by her first name? Yet never do with any other manager, or target?
Is it that she's that loved, that hated, or something else?
Ps you're definitely outstaying your welcome suggesting that oaf comes here! We've enough wind up merchants of our own.

But he left us because Dan Rice didn’t let him have a say here?
The idea that Bloomfield is "calling out" his bosses, 2 games in is pretty ludicrous. As is any idea he's let something slip!
Presumably because Evatt is hated by Bolton fans
He didn't just leave - he was FORCED to take a job with a considerably better salary...
Really hoping for some news early in the week on this. Hopefully the Gasroom will head back to normal soon after.
Yep, roll on animated threads about a superb win midweek, swiftly followed by an appointment everyone likes the sound of.

Dan asked him for his autograph but hid most of the paper so Matt didn't realise he was signing a contract to be the next Luton manager.
Brilliant post.
BLOOMFIELD has gone.
He enjoyed a good career and living at WW
For a second I thought you were genuinely passing on that first line as news 😜

Is this the new manager rumour mill thread?
It seems like every thread on the gasroom is being used for arguments based on whether MB jumped or was pushed.
Can we please move on?
What if he was pushed as he was jumping? 🤔
But yes, you'd hope that an appointment will give the anti-Rice crew a new focus...
It’s just about moving on and getting back to supporting the club really. The MB continuous discussion is getting very boring now.
Indeed. It’s (almost) been done to death. Understandably so. There’s a lot of disgruntlement about ! 😡
Do you really think we should just “move on” if Matt Bloomfield was pushed?
