Agree with this - I can't see analytics pointing to the likes of Terry, Lampard, Rooney etc. Much more likely someone we have never heard of in Scandanavia than this type of manager.
Fans still get suckered by the "great player" vibes. Most Leicester fans were ecstatic to get RVN to replace Cooper because RVN was a great player. They are now finding out that great management is a different skillset entirely.
"The M-Dog" as you put it did say he fancied another go and wasn't done yet not too long ago, but it seems inconceivable that being a Wycombe legend is high on the list of requirements or that him and the board would get on in any possible way.
The younger O'Neill has done brilliantly for a couple of spells in the Prem although ultimately ending up with the sack, would be a remarkable coup ahead of champ sides but it's entirely possible we are offering decent money.
