Another very acceptable performance against a good team. The points were there for the taking however, several times we just weren’t quite clinical enough with the final pass after great approach work. However, compare it to this time last season and it’s a massive improvement. We’re starting to look like a well drilled outfit that knows what it’s about. Keep improving at this rate and we’ll be contenders.
Just got back. Really enjoyed that. I thought we played really well other than the first 10-15 minutes and for a 5-10 minute spell just before the first goal. (The chaos at the end was just football - and in the end I was glad we didn’t let in a third).
We played a lot of good incisive football at times and there was good movement all over.
Barnsley are no mugs but for long periods we were getting into some decent positions.
But before I get carried away, we are only 1 point and 3 places in the league better off than we were after 8 games last .
I don’t think we can really compare to last season.
I think a couple of early wins last season were fluke ones and we did not look good at all. There were mountains of problems.
This year I think it is fair to say we have played well in every game, look exciting and have so many options. Optimistic as to what this one will bring. Don’t think anyone will be shouting for Blooms’ head at Christmas again!
Decent game, thought they started and finished the game better than us but we more than held our own. Sign of progress when your disappointed with only a point away to Barnsley.
Enjoyable trip with Ellis, 3rd time he's been to Oakwell and he's seen us win 3-0, lose 1-0 and then draw 2-2.
I thought the ref was excellent. Was very consistent in not giving fouls for falling over and tried to let the game continue wherever possible. I felt the yellows for Taylor and Low looked a bit harsh, but you're never going to agree with every decision.
At the end of the day, 4 points from two tough away games is an excellent return. Ok a bit disappointing not to have held on last night. There are lots of big clubs in League 1 spending money but with our quality and depth of squad , I believe we can compete to get in the playoffs.
Apart from not booking their lad for the most obvious dive I’ve ever seen, and not booking their CB for absolutely cleaning out Fred on the halfway line, I agree. Was very good outside of those two
While we should be rightly delighted that even with a bit of defensive issues we're still very well placed, the table is so tight that even Reading are only 1 point behind. A fan I know of theirs tells me how poor they are, and the perception is they've had a poor start to the season!
However, we're 8 games in and we've played 3 teams who will surely be top 6 already.
One game at a time and all that though, so we need to boot Crawley this weekend coming.
We need to stay in that Bristol Motors cup though, with such a huge squad it will be an important outlet for what could easily build into a big dissatisfied element of the squad. Although 5 subs these days will help a lot.
Sads looks much fitter this season and is an excellent wide man with lots of tricks and is very clever. With Sads, GMac, Fred and Kodur we have lots of talent in the wide positions now.
Couldn’t agree more, him and Taylor are Champ level players that will boost us into the higher positions this season. So impressed with our progress, and it’s still happening.
Signing Aaron Morley on a permanent basis would be comparable with the signing of Dom Gape a few years ago. Not as unlikely or delightfully unexpected (in fans’ minds) as that felt, perhaps - these are very different times - but we’ve signed relatively few loan players on a permanent basis over the years and it would still come as a very pleasant surprise.
Just seen that Gape is still without a club, presumably due to his injury situation. Such a talent. A reminder of why, while player wages at the top end are hugely inflated, no-one should blame a player for looking for better pay elsewhere - you never know when it might all come to an end. Hope he finds a club soon and can stay injury free.

Obviously not. I’m frustrated we didn’t hold on but don’t think we deserved to.
Great to see Ryan and son
Absolute blatant dive. He dragged his foot looking for the slightest touch from Harvie.
If some games are six pointers, then when we look back at the end of the season that game will have been a three point draw.
We really did have them. But never mind. Away point in Yorkshire'
Anyone who is disappointed is surely dissing a point.

Not a fan of puns, huh? 😁
Must be an Americanism fair play sir

To be fair, I am sitting in an office chair in Colorado, so you were basically spot on anyway!
Fair play mate. You are my idol xx

Barnsley is always a tough away trip so I’m happy with the point hopefully Matt can work on the defence.

3 points off the automatic promotion places after 8 games is a very good place to be.
This is going to be a very tough league indeed. Posh are in 16th place in the league but are just 3 points behind us.
Interestingly, a number of their fans echoed your thoughts, so perhaps it was just me!
Very much so.

Nothing will top that 3-0 win away, in glorious sunshine, and all 3 goals were crackers.
Watching the highlights I love it how Sads time and time again leaves defenders for dead. And now when he's had his go Fred takes over!

A message to Dan Rice-
Dan you are doing a fantastic job but please buy Morley in the January window.
I was thinking only the other day...how long before an 'interim' chairman becomes permanent chairman?
