He's mostly played on the left for both us and Luton, but he's pretty good with both feet. I'd be intrigued to see him on the right and maybe even in the nine. Probably a right handful wherever he plays.
Looks a great (re) signing on paper. We’ve been known to have a gamble on players with chequered injury records and I hope this one pays off. Weren’t Luton utilising Fred as a RWB at some point? I assume this won’t be the case with us! Looks more of a threat to GMac’s spot and possibly the signal of the winter of the latter’s career. If Fred can achieve the same longevity as GMac then we’ve got a great player for the next 10 years….
We now have a truly fantastic squad. There are an abundance of options. The only negative I see is if everyone is fit there could be a lot of unhappy players.
On his last appearance for us Fred and GMac both played (I only know because I just watched the video of Fred scoring for us in his last appearance in the Championship).
I know Middlesbrough had nothing to play for, but that 3-0 win at the Riverside, in context of it being away in the Championship, has to be one of the top quality Wycombe performances ever.
My YouTube suggested the Bristol City home game highlights after watching this. Imagine the pandemonium around AP if there had been fans there to see Bayo's first championship goal, a last minute penalty winner, in a must win game. One of so many moments from that season that I'll never get over the fact we missed.
Loved the Bayo goal, though my favourite from the Champo season was actually Blooms v Derby, as he looked so delighted, and it was from open play too.
The list of eight players who scored at least one Championship goal having been with us in League One previously is going to be the answer to a trivia question in the future!
Sorry to gloat but I was at the Bristol City game following an ultimately unproductive meeting with Pete C. Twelve people going mental cocooned in the Woodlands Lounge when Bayo scored his pen in an echoing AP is possibly the strangest Wycombe experience in a long line of crazy moments.
Does Pete still tweet about his love for ‘The Wyc’, or has he moved on now…? It seems crazy that barely 8 months have passed since he was instrumental in delivering what will forever be known as the ‘Lonwijk Window’.
Having just watched @bluntphil’s interview with Fred, I was interested to note (a) that, not surprisingly, he has matured as an interviewee since his third spell here and (b) that he seems as laid back as ever.
Bayo used to say that you have to get him annoyed to get the best out of him on the pitch. Whether that is still the case, time will tell.
I also watched the interviews with Caleb Taylor and Shamal George. Both typically well spoken and personable Wycombe signings. Shamal’s confident and sparkling personality particularly engaging. Didn’t realise just what a big “unit” he is. 6’6” including hair.
Whilst checking Shamal’s height on Wikipedia (which gives it as a mere 6’3”) the following newspaper report popped up about a horrendous incident in which he was involved several years ago. Poor guy.
I don’t know the date of the rearranged fixture as it is not shown in the fixture list on the official website. I thought I’d found it but that was the return fixture on 18 January!!
Fred himself, for what it’s worth, says he is fit. I take that to mean that he is injury free but presumably insufficiently prepared in pre season to be included yet in the matchday squad, despite reportedly having been training with Stoke City. I think it was Stoke City.

This might age badly but suspect GMac will see off a replacement or two.
No idea where Fred fits in really but if he's still got some pace he'll do alright.
Got to love the media team

Yesssssss!!!!!!!!!!!
We never have everybody fit, so no worries on that score!

It's still painful thinking of all those games we didn't get to go to.
I know you "don't get to go to" more than me, so I shouldn't really complain.
Yabadabadoo!
So pleased!
God I loved that team:

Admiral Muskwe appears to be without a club at the moment. I liked him.
So did I. 🤷♂️
I'm excited to see in his interview he said "I'm older, wiser and BETTER than I was when I was last here"

I'm not ashamed to say I had a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye when he scored that
Get the old band back together.

Only Wheeler from that list didn’t play for us in league two as well if I’m right?

Sounds like we won’t be seeing Fred this weekend.

Sounds like a very sensible approach.
Typical of the caring approach for which our great club is renowned.
Agreed.
We need him fit for the rearranged Mansfield game, still annoyed about that
