Interesting that it's happened now. There was talk of it almost happening during the summer, but it didn't fit our 'moneyball-ish' system and the computer wasn't having it. He would also never have been signed if a Couhig was still at the club.
4 each now! JMac signed for us 2015 (loan), 2018 (permanent), 2020 (loan), 2020 (permanent). Fred now has 2014 (loan), 2018 (loan), 2019 (permanent), 2024 (permanent).
You could argue PCH has four as well! 2013 (permanent), Jan 2016 (loan), June 2016 (loan), 2017 (permanent). He didn't play for anyone else in between the two loans though so maybe it just counts as one, but it was two distinct loan spells across two different seasons - who knows. I wonder if we have anyone with five or more
Hell of a signing for us. Welcome back Fred. When everyone is fit , Bloomfield is going to have some major headaches in team selection. Here’s what I’d pick if we play 4-3-3 .
I don't know why he's not ended up at a championship club.... but I don't care!! Brilliant Brilliant news!!! Well done to everyone involved with making this happen.
Fantastic news. I am really surprised but delighted all the same. He got his move because of his superb form, especially in the second half of the 2020/21 season.
It will be really interesting to see how Matt Bloomfield integrates him back into the side. We have plenty of options now, injury notwithstanding. If we can build some momentum, strengthen in January and then have a real go at finishing in the top six.*
When fit I suspect he’s first name on the team sheet. Some great depth out wide now and means we can allow G Mac to play more of an impact role perhaps.

Blimey top quality signing. Welcome back Fred.
A great signing. Glad to have him back with a good bit of experience during that time at Luton
That is massive.
Well done to Matt, the team and Fred!
this is an incredible signing

We sign premier league players now.
Out boomeranging JMc

Out boomeranging P C-H then!

welcome back Fred!
Would've been exceptional if the Media team had announced Fred's return with a picture of their sparkling-clean office.
So perhaps they really were tidying the office that day.
Welcome back Fred!
@NewburyWanderer 🤝 @Last_Quarter

Yes.
Brilliant news! I never get bored of the "beloved ex-player comes back" plot point.
I've got a big stupid grin on my face.
Promotion assured now surely? 😊
Great news!
Any news regarding the length of the contract?

George
Grimmer, Low, Taff, Harvie
Humphreys, Scowen, Morley
GMac, Udoh, Fred.
I’m sure there’s lots of different opinions!!
Just said this to my wife who pays a passing notice to Wycombe every so often and her first words were “isn’t he the one that won the penalty”
YES, YES HE IS
God I’m so happy with this business.
Get that interview going @bluntphil 👍👍👍👍

What a signing
Be interesting to know how fit he is. Has he been training anywhere?
He's been on trial with Stoke, apparently...

*if this is optimism, then I don't like it.
I'm thrilled. He's been a top player for us and did well at Luton.
SO where does he fit in?

Seeing your reaction I'm now really excited!
