Weren’t the tests conducted by the IBA rather than the IBF?
Unless we see some momentum around World Boxing as a new governing body, it’s hard to see boxing being at 2028, which would be catastrophic for the sport and for so many young people across the world.
The IOC has pretty much guaranteed boxing will be part of the 2028 schedule. Regardless of their relationship with the Russian dominated IBA. Which I find
@TheAndyGrahamFanClub Ropey all round - her Chilean nemesis also had a review request ignored, hard to see if she had a case or not because they didn’t show the replay, but the Brit had a clear shot ruled a miss... Loved the Refugee team boxer from Bolton tearing that French boxer to shreds.
From a track cycling enthusiast who is apparently ITK, I heard that 21 year old Emma Finucane will be a household by the end of the olympics. Hope it’s fun finding out...
Thankfully day off today. It will be serious dent in the couch come 10pm. Thankfully Discovery+ is covering everything as the BBC seems to have very few options compared to previous Olympics. Decent presenters having to fill for 90% of a show does not make for good live sport.
I think she’s brilliant. But the BBC has such sparse coverage of sports I would rather have more live sport than background or talk pieces. Save that for tonight at the games.
The Olympics is a showcase for amazing diverse sports. Let’s show as much live stuff as possible. But I get they have only 2 streams now which makes it harder.
Think the balance is about right, The calibre of guest is excellent, Remember when they showed more of it people only moaned that they shouldn't be spending that money or couldn't possibly miss cash in the attic.
Have been and will be rightly talking about Keeley Hodgkinson at length. Amazing stuff.
I was really enjoying watching Duplantis in the pole vault but the BBC just wouldn't bloody show the climax. Instead we got the same VT they've run about Keelley Hodgkinson about 400 times already.

We've got 3 really good females in the 800m the young 17 year old Gill, looks a really exciting prospect
I’m always baffled by how young some Olympians are, but especially on the track - just unbelievable really. Would love to see all three make the final
What always brings it home to me, is when they are younger than my own youngest
Her interview was a joy. So grounded

Amber Rutter was robbed in the skeet shooting. Terrible for her
We can dream of a 1,2,3
Not seen that, last I saw it was not on the programme for LA28 but that is good news.
Let’s face it the IOC are as crooked as FIFA so that could change in a heartbeat.
But not quite as crooked as the IBA from what I’ve read
Keely Hodgkinson is very special, decimated the field despite running almost 3 seconds slower than her pb!
Or a 1. Poor Gemma Reekie, not sure what happened in that semi.
That 100m was incredible, almost a dead heat for gold and everyone so close on times. Wouldn’t like to have called the winner there!
The men’s 100m final was brilliant. What a run.
Could have thrown a blanket over them at the end. Unbelievably close race
It was a great race.
Anyone else think that if our VAR had decided on it that have got it wrong?
Offside.
They’d still be studying it now!
Amazing we can separate athletes by thousands of a second but can't see a clay pigeon had a great chunk hit out of it.
I'm still angry about a sport I have no interest in!!!!!

One Gold already for her. More to come no doubt.
Emma Finucane was brilliant. As they all were. I wonder if she gets three the BBC might talk less about Biles ?
Why would they talk less about Biles? She’s the best of all time at her event.

The BBC doesn’t have as much access to events as they have had at previous OG. Eurosport has concentrated more on live sport and less on studio chat.
Kelley Hodgkinson is a wonderful talent and she will become a household name now.
