Spot on, and remember how the parents of Jordan Ibe insisted that he would be better off starting at Wycombe and before long he was transferred to Liverpool.
Hmmm.......would I prefer a plumber who always wanted to be a plumber but killed a few women doing my plumbing or someone who wanted to be a footballer but couldn't make it so became a plumber instead?
And would I want the plumber to explain in great detail what he was going to do or just say "I've fixed your tap" and nothing else?
”Johnny, I’m your Dad and I support you, but sorry son, with that attitude I’m not surprised you didn’t make it. Stop blaming others or coming up with what if scenarios and embrace any chances you do get.
Not sure there is much to add here. I would have chosen Arsenal if it was my kid.
Frankly although in my sixties I haven't completely given up hope that any day now a scout my recognise my silky skills and seek to sign me up but in truth starting to look a little less likely now. Feck em, their loss.....
F.A.O. Dr. Congo last time someone I had Legal Beagle look the lease over, so could be out of date:
If the Option to purchase the freehold is not exercised by Frank Adams Legacy Limited by 2023, the training ground will, by 2027, no longer under the control of the football club.
As I said, a while ago.
The lack of formal documentation regarding the training ground deal was indicative of a lot of the **** the Couhigs had to put up with.
The best day to plant a tree is yesterday, the second best is today.
Obviously you would choose Arsenal academy over Wycombe’s, especially as Wycombe’s doesn’t exist yet and we have no record of bringing our own academy players through.
Yes, if you’d have asked me six months ago what I wanted from the next owner, it would’ve been this, a new academy, steady progress and a long term vision. Please tell me it’s real .
Will be interesting to see what investment we put into Harlington as to whether it's a short term fix or a long term project.
With Reading looking like they're back to square 1 in their takeover, Bearwood could soon be available for an even more knockdown price than it was before.
Scope for some input from @aloysius in due course, perhaps. As I understand it, we will be one of the tenants at Harlington so perhaps there could still be scope for an alternative. Harlington is 22 miles from Wycombe - slightly nearer than Bearwood (?) but probably just as long a drive timewise, if not longer.

So many questions.

Well done for taking the club forward.

@NiceCarrots why is yesterday a better day to plant a tree than the day before yesterday?
Yesterday was Sunday. Tree planter would have expected double time
day before yesterday was Saturday - time and a half
far more efficient to plant it today
Planting a tree under which you will never enjoy the shade is one selfless act.
Best not to say that I spent this afternoon cutting down an unwanted sycamore tree.
Hopefully your neighbour is not a hindu!
Dan Rice's first interview with our very own @bluntphil has dropped on WWTV - https://www.wwfc.com/news/2024/june/10/dan-outlines-vision-and-strategy-in-first-interview/
Comes across really well.
But it's a selfish act if you plant a tree in the middle of your lawn the day before you exchange & move out!
That'll be one hell of a surprise!

Got a sneaky feeling, this might be a big week.
And then we sign Neymar......
Thanks @NiceCarrots
like like what my old neighbour did!
@eric_plant has Dan Rice on strings

I really should get to bed!
