That’s a relief. Thanks @wwfcblue. Peterborough must be one of the most in and out, blow hot or cold side in the Football League. At least when we’re not firing on all cylinders we sustain it consistently for a good few games. You never know which Peterborough you’re going to get.
if Josh is fit he starts and we have to drop one of the above and shuffle. Vokes and Kone fighting for the number 9 shirt but Vokes starts with his experience and ability to hold up and flick on.
I'm assuming Scowen will be fit because he's super human. I also agree that it would be mad not to start with Vokes, the only player we have who'll feel at home at Wembley. Therefore:
I believe the Sunderland game was Voakes first ever appearance at Wembley. Given that he, along with the rest of the team, ‘failed to show up’ that day, then arguably Sunday will be his Wembley debut!
Kone is an interesting one for me. I’m not always a big fan of bringing on a raw talent like his later in the game especially when chasing a game. One thing he has shown is his lack of fear. Why not start him and try and put Peterborough on the back foot. If lasts sixty minutes so be it. Against Sunderland we were timid for 80 minutes and the game was long gone. Peterborough won’t know about Kone to have plans for him. Man for man they are better than us in attack so we need to do something different.
The fitness of GMac is huge in my opinion. Who replaces him could be the deciding factor. Does MB go with the raw talent of Kone or the dependable Wheeler?
Scowen would be a huge miss too but is covered to a huge degree by the excellent Butcher. The loss of Scowen would potentially change the shape of the team by MB going back to 2 in midfield. Would Scowen’s absence trigger 3 at the back👀
Christie Ward, Jack Young, Taylor Clark, Declan Skura and D’Mani Mellor all played in the National League or NL South today, so no last minute recall to help make up the numbers on the bench.
if they’re not needed, might that just be a sign that Josh and Garath are both fit?
Scott Oldham has been named as the referee for the Final, alongside assistant referees Richard Woodward and Justin Amey, fourth official Tom Kirk and reserve assistant Kevin Howick.
Doubt it's much of a decision, considering JJ hasn't even made the bench the last 3 months and Longwijk has been a relatively regular starter as of late.
JJ's only chance is if either GMac or Scowen still aren't fit, or if someone else picked up a mysterious training ground injury in the week.
Comments
They did indeed and they had a fairly injury free squad to call upon.
If Matt gets his team selection right then we have every chance

I swear you do this to tickle the gasroom pedant committee, but just in case you've genuinely not realised in his 3 seasons here...
It's Vokes.
He played at Wembley for Burnley in the PL, twice

No.
21 players shown in photo from Wembley today, including both GMac & Scowen - hopefully a good sign.
Christie Ward, Jack Young, Taylor Clark, Declan Skura and D’Mani Mellor all played in the National League or NL South today, so no last minute recall to help make up the numbers on the bench.

🤞
Is there anyone I'm missing out of this, aside from development players?
Starting
Rav, Grimmer, Taf, Low, Leahy, Scowen, Butcher, Potts, McCleary, Vokes, Sadlier
Bench
Max, McCarthy, JJ, Forino, Wheeler, Kone, Taylor
Definitely injured
Hanlan, KVY,
Probably injured
Pattenden
Cup Tied
Kodua, Campbell, Lubala
Does anyone know who the ref will be?
Lonwijk.
The 18 you have are all in the photo that’s been released on the WhatsApp channel.
plus Lonwijk, Pattenden & Steele (? - 3rd choice goalie).
Ah Lonwijk.
Ok that's a big decision for Bloomy then, 10 year legend JJ or a loanee we might see as part of our plans next season?
From that photo, I'm predicting that Scowen is fit and good to go
Who are the match officials?

The National Anthem is being sung by Gary Lineker!!
Oh....my mistake
16:25: National anthem (performed by Harry Linacre and BSL Interpreter)
First time a national anthem has been sung by a Harry since 1920 apparently.
Or am I getting mixed up with a @flymofrank thread?
Not sure what legs your comment about Vokes and Wembley has:
Butcher played in the final last year for Plymouth.
Grimmer has played and scored in a playoff final for Coventry.
Taff played with us against Sunderland, as did Scowen, McCleary and McCarthy.
Sadlier has played in 2 or 3 EFL Trophy finals.
Leahy has played in a Scottish cup final infront of 37,000 at Hampden Park.
and Ravizzoli has played for MK Dons so he will be used to seeing lots of empty seats.
I thought the same thing. If he can crouch like that he’s in better shape than I am!
In fairness half the time the home end will have been behind him so Rav wouldn't have seen the empty spaces.
Exactly my thoughts !
Yes but we aren’t asking for 90 full throttle from you both @floyd or @HolmerBlue
But bring your boots just in case.
Three I don’t recognise. The slight lad between McCleary and Koné, the giant behind Potts and the guy on Potts’ right.
Nathan Shepperd, Joe Low, Kieran Sadlier
Flipping heck! How tall is Joe Low? And how small is the third choice goalkeeper?
Thanks @Midlander.
