@micra - I am glad the Gasroom is such a positive for you, as I am sure so many would testify. It's strange to know people without knowing their names or faces, but the personalities make up for it!
@Blue_since_1990 - all the best for the upcoming operation. May it be completely successful!
@Bluesince1990. I had a similar operation just over two years ago and spent a night in hospital for the first time in my life. The operation went well as has my subsequent recovery so far. If there is any advice I can give you please feel free to message me although I have no idea how you can do that! To reassure you, it’s not nearly as scary as you might be thinking.
Sorry to hear that, @Blue_since_1990 but at least they’ve caught it before it spread. I never quite understood why mine couldn’t have been removed because it had spread but here I am nearly 18 years later.
@micra hope you hang around for a good while yet. Your positivity is inspiring and you are one of the reasons the Gasroom is such a reasonable and civilised forum.
Micra, as a fellow SVT sufferer I can absolutely get why attending matches would be so hard. Your episodes sound far worse than mine (which I’ve had since I was 8) as mine are a few times a month and usually last minutes not hours. The dizziness and feeling that I’ve lost all strength in my body is not pleasant and to have that for hours at a time must be grim. I wish you well.
It’s not pleasant. I’ve had it for nearly ten years. It’s made me very reluctant to go too far from home and I won’t drive on my own these days.
We’re shortly setting off for a family pub lunch, son-in-law driving us (plus our daughter) and grandchildren and one partner making their own way. Old Queen’s Head. One of our favourites.
Can’t argue with that @Malone. I think most of us feel a lot more confident about our prospects next season than we did around the turn of the year.
Meanwhile, I’ll continue to burn the midnight oil. I was in a small NY Wordle league last year and a few of us suspected that one particular person had, shall we say, discovered that there were certain websites that offered clues. I had this silly idea that I could demonstrate my own integrity by doing Wordle as soon as it became available - at midnight. Then of course I can’t avoid having a look at some of the day’s exchanges on the Gasroom and adding a few merry quips. Hence the midnight musings.
One of the joys of being long retired and physically relatively inactive is the freedom to have long lie-ins pretty well any day of the week. So that’s what we do.
Thank you for the best wishes and kind words @AlanCecil and @glasshalffull. In all the excitement of the family lunch yesterday and the exhaustion afterwards, I forgot to thank you.

Very kind sentiments, thank you mate! All the best to Portsmouth in (hopefully) next season, and thanks for coming on to comment.

I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine.

Thank you very much 👍
Thank you very much.
Thank you @glasshalffull really appreciate that.
Thank you @Shev at least the operation date is yet to be fixed so I can see the Wembley final before it.
COYB!!!
Thanks @Manboobs. We certainly did.
@micra not surprised you feel a lot more comfy at home reading that full extent, doesn't sound great.
The good news is next season is our big promotion push, so plenty to look forward to then.

I don't blame you. I've always been an early bird for a few reasons, but Saturday is my one lie in, and these days that alone is a treat in itself.
Step 1 on retirement would definitely be regular lie-ins. Older relatives are the exact opposite of this approach, getting up super early.
Best wishes to @micra and to @Blue_since_1990 .
Knowing a bit about more this condition now, with big thanks to the late great Bill Turnbull who made it something we can now talk about.
Yes Bill opened 1000’s of peoples eyes to the condition including me.
Thank you for the best wishes and kind words @AlanCecil and @glasshalffull. In all the excitement of the family lunch yesterday and the exhaustion afterwards, I forgot to thank you.
Yes thank you both. COYB!!!
