Who, where, when, score, scorers etc.

Not such a difficult one to start off with.

  • Was it Mr Regis at St Andrews?

  • Deffo St Andrews, when we beat Birmingham 1-0 thanks to Cyrille in our second season in the Fl. Regis cousin David was playing for Brum, Their little winger Jose Dominguez was running us ragged at times, but we held on.

    Correcto Mr Bandito.

    30/08/94 Birmingham City 0 WWFC 1 (Regis) Attendance 14,305.

For a bonus point - who supplied the cross for Big Cyrille's goal?

  • Andy Turner ? on loan from Spurs

I remember Steve McGavin was sat in a box right behind as. We were giving him a bit of stick. Then low and behold he signs for us!

  • That was a rather intimidating walk back to the car that evening! Totally worth it though. As for who supplied the cross.....complete shot in the dark....Justin Skinner?

I remember going into a pub before the game it was crawling with city support and their club badge was on everything that was the quickest I've ever finished a pint.

  • Wasn't it Hutch with the cross?

  • It was indeed Simon Hutchinson.

  • Any ideas on this one?

  • Frickley Athletic, drew 2-2 ???

  • I know the chap in the flat cap !!

  • Well done, do you remember the scorers?

  • Westy & Joe Blochel

  • Correct - attendance? (if you know this, I know you're looking it up)!

  • I bet Hatto or Garry Hooley scored for Frickley, as one or both seemed to score every week.

Bit of a regular back in the day - liked a scuffle - was he called Shaun?

  • @NewburyWanderer Have to hold my hand up and admit i did remember where it was and the score but the smaller detail to goalscoers etc i did look up. Att 537 8/3/86

  • Excellent Picture Mr Newbury Wanderer. They had a great team that season, hard to believe they finished 2nd that season, the last season before automatic promotion was introduced. Anyway here are some You tube clips of the FAC run to the 3rd Round in that season around the time we played them, interesting we were at York that day they played Rotherham Utd in the 3rd Round. That mound by the way was/is a Slag heap.

Not many dressing rooms had a Coal fire in them!

  • Here we go again - might be difficult, might be easy for some.

  • The Lawn, Forest Green Rovers, must be a PSF, either '91 or '92 cant remember the score.

  • That's right. August 8th 1992, won 4-1. Scorers were Scott, Barrowcliff, West, Norman.

Steaming hot day if I remember rightly.

  • I had to obscure a bit of giveaway information on this one, but I'm sure someone will get it pretty quickly anyway.

Also, does anyone know why photos posted on here have started coming out as if they've just been through a Hall of Mirrors? Now have to do a lot of tweaking to get them in proportion.

  • Baldock in the FA Cup, Westy and Andy Kerr, i remember the bank and the clubhouse. won 2-0 1989.

  • I can see I've got to do a bit more digging for the very obscure!

  • I remember that was the game when the supporters coach developed a puncture on the way home on the A1 just as we were coming out of the tunnel at Hatfield Galleria.

  • Right, what's this one then?

    Apologies for the poor quality!

  • Edgerley Park, Lost 4-1 . Turnball scored for us. Big Kevin Francis the 9 for Stockport in this photo gave it away. Windy Day, Francis caused havoc that day.

  • Correctimundo! Thought it might be a tough spot, as it was the one time we played at Stockport before the big stand went up behind the goal.
