What a waste
Loan.him back to us ffs if he's not going to get a sniff!!!! He is literally the player we are missing
You wonder if Ainsworth has any chance of getting him back on loan - quite likely that Chair gets sold at some point, perhaps January.
Fuck Nigel Pearson
Will he still be there, could do with some sales to generate some funds but seems less likely.
69 minutes gone, a turgid game which needs a bit of magic, and still no Anis sighting.
What is the opposite of developing players? Whatever it is, Pearson needs a knighthood for services to it.
just posted this in Other Football…
And watching this I can see why Anis isn’t getting game time - this looks like a team that’s been told they’ll be fined if they show any flair.
I am not sure what is more galling - selling Anis for a relative pittance, or him going to a team that won't develop him. Probably the latter, actually - it's not my money, and I desperately want the lad to realize his potential.
Genuinely, I just think Pearson has a personal issue with him. I recall them winning 4-1 a few weeks back and they still did not bring him on when the game was done and dusted.
I think Pearson as manager is all wrong for Anis but I don't think using an example of him not playing in a game they won 4-1 is the strongest argument he should be playing
Double sub, still no Mehmeti. I will never forgive Pearson if he wastes a year of Anis's career.
I think players are often given run outs when the game is out of sight. But either way - plenty of other results to choose from where he has warmed the bench, or come on after 88 minutes. Take your pick!
I thought we sold him for a (secret) record fee?
Even their fans think the flair and tenacity is being coached out of him..... extra money aside.... I wonder if he is regretting the move?
Sorry - I meant relative to his talent, rather than relative to other players we have sold in the past. There was pretty general agreement we would have realized more if we could have sold him at market value.
That Conway looks a bit useful.
Why are you insulting a manager for not selecting a player? I don’t understand your point.
Pearson is a very experienced football man who has played and managed at the highest level. He saw enough potential in Anis to warrant Bristol City paying our club a record fee to transfer him. If Anis has not yet lived up to that potential I fail to see why that is a reason to insult Pearson. His job is not to develop any player’s career, his job is to win football matches and if he felt that Anis would help him to achieve that I’m sure he would put him straight into the team.
You begin to wonder if signing Anis wasn’t mostly the work of Phil Alexander, who has since left the club.
I wouldn't want a manager who didn't see his job to develop any player's career. Luckily, we don't have one of those at Wycombe
It becomes a bit of a gamble and a numbers game, they had several good prospects with a decent chance of some of them moving on soon, £1.5m or so for them wasn't much, if he did well he goes for a massive profit, if not but one of the others does well they are still fine. Quite possible that Alexander highlighted the release clause if nothing else and they thought it worth a gamble. Doesn't seem like Pearson's type of player at all.
Rich clubs stock up but only eleven can play each week and football is full of could have been, hopefully he gets a chance soon or a move. Too talented to bench warm.
Remind me what he did for Wycombe again
Did we ever get to the bottom of whether we do have sell on fees, despite it being a transfer based on triggering a clause value?
Managers live or die by results unless they are given a long enough contract to spend time developing young players potentially at the expense of results. Every manager knows this is how it works.
Crikey. He doesn’t hang about for long does he?
Leaked his own release clause to another team apparently.
Can anything be leaked to a team, I wonder.
We might find out if they don't fix those roofs
