The problem with moving away from 5 at the back, is we have signed defenders specifically for that. Tuesday proved the new wing backs aren't cut out defensively to play as full backs alone
From what I've seen so far, McCarthy should be starting over KVY both in a 5-back or a 4-back. Grimmer, although out for a while, is a very good League One right back.
Agree, to an extent, with Boyes. He still hasn't shown enough going forward for me to justify the 5-back, though. If he isn't strong enough defensively to play in a 4 then we have both Leahy and JJ who can play there.
Uche will still be on a fair whack salary wise so I don't think we can question if our owners are not serious about this season on the pitch. We only sold him 3 years ago for £1 million. He's still only 28 - if we keep him fit this will be the best of the lot
I'm not familiar with this player, having only recently become a Wycombe fan. But, looking at his history and CV, he seems to be exactly the type of maverick and unpredictable player we need up front.
He may, however, be called up by Uganda for the Africa Cup of Nations from mid-Jan to mid-Feb 2024.
Uche would be a great addition but I feel we still need a wide fast player up front to add pace to the attack and I do worry that when Scowen is out that we will not have another strong holding midfield player.
Perhaps he won't be on a huge salary, and after making a packet in Turkey, will come here to enjoy the game, re-find form, and if he does well gets us a huge sell-on fee.
Great news if it goes through. Looking forward to seeing Uche in front of fans at AP. Perhaps we can give him the lift he needs and we'll get the lift we need?
Anyone know what went on with Johnson Clarke Harris? Scored loads of goals for posh but transfer listed and expected to go higher for lots of money, now being linked with Derby and even laughably going back to Bristol Rovers?
Then retrieved them, stuck them on their head, shrink wrapped them to a lamppost, filmed it and put it on tick-tock and got it sponsored by Coleman’s Mustard.
Until it's 100% confirmed he's a great signing for them or anyone else, just in need of the right opportunity and will no doubt be a roaring success and be sold on for many millions.
Hanlan still at the training ground today. By no means does it suggest that the Wrexham deal is less likely to happen, but still surprising I would've thought given his apparent refusal to play on Tuesday night.
£200k is about what I would expect so £300k is excellent. Whether it is money Blooms can use effectively or whether it is used to support losses we will have to wait and see.

KVY has been incredibly poor and would agree a change in that position would be welcomed. Very laboured and just doesn't look up for the fight.
Not sure why this went down poorly as the 5 at the back has been an uncomfortable watch so far.
And that's what it is, as the wingbacks barely get near the other end.
Yes we're reasonably blessed with centre backs but we feel like we're lacking an attacking option elsewhere because of it.
Sky Sports reporting that Uche is having a medical at the club today. Could be a busy one for the social media team!

Uche coming in would be just the massive lift we all need
Chant ready to go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fayL1WTR1Go
Excellent choice.
I see that his full name is Karl Anthony Uchechukwu Mubiru Ikpeazu. Good luck to @bluntphil when he has to read that out in commentary.
Exactly.

Asking too much really I suppose.

Or UCHE UCHE IKPEAZU

I thought it was long agreed that it was the Uche-walla walla, uche bang bang anthem from the 90s that was his song.
Another excellent shout
As is this!

Hanlan fee of £300k seems to be true. I have to apologise for my prior comments on his transfer value. We’ve had Wrexham’s pants down.

I don’t actually think he’s that good. He’s always struggled against us.
Had them down, taken them off and flung them over the fence.
Then retrieved them, stuck them on their head, shrink wrapped them to a lamppost, filmed it and put it on tick-tock and got it sponsored by Coleman’s Mustard.

Don't. Start. Discussing .Sell-ons. Too late.

Matt never said he refused to play.
Careful writing gub like this, or the BFP will pick it up and report it as actual truth

Indeed, I shouldn't have opened that can of worms again with regards to speculation vs fact.
Regardless, it's obvious he wasn't in the squad on Tuesday due to a move being in the works, the exact reasonings of which we will never know.
