Just on that, it's an interesting point... Will Matt have the same ethos to building a squad of 'nice' players as Gareth Ainsworth? Will a strong dressing room spirit be top priority? You'd think so... But is that based on Matt being a nice man himself? Gareth seemed to have a keenness on players who wore their religious values on their sleeves, maybe because of his own Christianity, but I'm not sure if that's so important to Matt. Did the psychological profiling overseen by Richard Dobson stop when he left the club or is it something Matt is continuing with his staff?
Who knows. But we shouldn't underestimate the changes that this new era might bring as Matt stamps his own mark on the squad.
I've been wondering this too. I'd be shocked if MB throws that idea out of the window all together. And it would explain the slowness of our transfer dealings...
The criteria and quality checking for basic decency would definitely have cut down some available options but it has also been a selling point as you say.
Blooms will be trying to convince new signings the club still has the drive, ambition and environment that it did under Ainsworth but maybe with a nicer style of football.
If players actually meet him I'm sure they'll appreciate he's a lovely guy with genuine concern for their best development. Maybe needs to get a known name across the line to encourage others. If we've never heard of any of them and they turn out great that's also cool but maybe a difficult ask.
Anyone mentioned Connor Wickham yet? Doesn’t he get mentioned most windows recently just because his name sounds like it’s a good fit, even if there’s no actual evidence?
No need to panic just yet, although I was expecting something today , being Ist July and players out of contract. Surely our Head of Recruitment is doing something !! In complete contrast to our activity, Portsmouth have signed their 8th new player.
The first falling on a weekend probably lowered the odds of announcement, but when you couple that with the website issues they were also happening yesterday and the day before, it would be a no brainer to push back any announcements even if they were planned.
i’m Going for the middle of the month for announcements just because it’s my birthday around then and I want nice presents.
Hmmmm...surprised to hear that people think Bloomfield's Wycombe is a harder sell than Ainsworth's Wycombe when some on here were convinced that Ainsworth's Wycombe was a hard sell not so many Gasroom Summers ago.
Gareth Ainsworth has a decade long reputation in the game, Matt Bloomfied has a handful of months at each of two clubs. I find it entirely unsurprising that people think Bloomfield's Wycombe is a relatively harder sell than Ainsworth's Wycombe, regardless of how hard or otherwise they felt Ainsworth's Wycombe was to sell.

just checking you are checking @micra 😉
We've had some interesting recruitment strategies over the years haven't we?
Gareth with his good eggs in what by all accounts is such a great atmosphere that players constantly return to the club.
Sanchez with his strict Brentford/Wimbledon/Barnet oldboy links.
Waddock loving an Aldershot link
Taylor with a intriguing mix of "Interesting" characters, family members and washed up higher tier players.
Although he was utterly stitched up by the Hayes summer ultimatum, which was the most certain relegation ever seen
Christianity got us a year in the Championship but I think we'll need Satanism to get to the Premiership.
To the Devil A Daughter was filmed in West Wycombe. Maybe use that as a starting point.

Jo validity, but remains a target?
I remember reading To The Devil a Daughter as a young teenager, many years ago, scared the bejesus out of myself.
Probably wet weather training then 😂
One of the coaches was heard to ask "Have you got a tenor man" but it was assumed they were trying to boost transfer funds.
760 comments is pretty good going considering we haven’t actually signed anybody yet!
Have we actually even had a half-decent rumour yet?
If we’re not signing Tarpey or Diving Danny then who are we signing??
Clearly we're leaving the announcements to the Big Waiver refund party.
Official time to start panicking is 20mins into that.

Probably be Monday at least before our first signing announcement, I can’t remember a weekend announcement to be honest.
I’m not panicking yet but I have started glancing at the button.
If I had thought of it sooner we could have had a sweepstakes draw for the day of our first signing of the summer. Talk about ratcheting up the drama!

July 5th. 2046.
No reason you can't do it now!

Hmm, Announcement later maybe ?
I think that's just a reaction to Elon's latest meddling
Que sera sera.
Hope you’re correct @micra that chant goes on to assert “we’re goin’ ta Wem-ber-leery”!
Yes! Papa Johns - this is our year!
