The reality is Huddersfield are a better bet than us to be in the mix at the end of the season. So , why wouldn’t you join them. Taylor has joined Wigan. Bloomfield hopes to get a couple through the door before the end of the transfer window. Now we know it’s not loan players we’ve had before, wonder who it will be ?
Sorry but what world do you live in. According to Transfer market the value of their squad is valued in excess of £23m compare to ours just under £7m. Attendances three or four times ours. So more money to spend on players. Be realistic, Huddersfield are a better bet than us for promotion. Hence more attractive for players. So can understand why Nig went there.
I don’t often advocate splashing cash but if there was one player I would have pushed the boat out for it would haven been him. A position we are often weak in and would be our best central defender.
“…..the value of their squad is valued at £23m compared with ours at just under £7m.”
That sounds a high valuation for our squad. Is it a figure based purely on your own assessments or were you able discover a reliable source of relevant information?
Huddersfield play in L1. We play in L1. The size of their stadium or quality of their squad is irrelevant to the level of competition Nigel will be competing against.
It might have purely come down to finance. Wolves might have wanted a certain percentage of his wages to be paid, Huddersfield said yes, we said no. They can probably no doubt pay higher wages than us
You are going on vacation and can stay at a two star hotel owned by a billionaire or a five star hotel not owned by a billionaire. Not only this, but the five star hotel is going to throw in a lot of freebies. However, the receptionist at the two star hotel was friendly. Which is more attractive?
100% agree , if he went to championship team like Potts then would understand, either we did not offer wolves as much as Huddersfield then again very disappointing, let's see what blooms has hidden up his sleeves ....hopefully not an untested yoingster
Maybe we offered more and Nige decided to test himself in a new environment with bigger crowds and more expectation? We have no way of knowing and holding this against the club is stupid
As a jaded international playboy, I'd recommend staying in 4 star hotels. Almost the same as 5 stars but a bit cheaper and the staff tend to make more effort. 5 star hotels are often coasting along.
Umm...not sure how this relates to the topic at hand. Depends what a 4 star football club is. Forest??
not holding anything against the club as know one really knows what is behind the situation however would find it hard to believe that we would not be in for him, let's see who blooms does sign as we are desperate for cover
Always the 5 star, how long are you planning spending in reception? Sure, she'll be very friendly when you ring to say the shower is broken but you'd rather it worked.
There's that urban myth which states that if you are in a 5 star hotel and phone the concierge asking for an extra pillow, they'll send up some young lady to spend the night with you (for a fee)
Which makes me wonder what on earth you'd do if you actually wanted an extra pillow. Phone reception and ask for a woman???
We should phone West Ham and ask for a pillow. I wonder what U21 future star they'd send us.
Of course Huddersfield are a bigger club than us, but he’ll still be testing himself against the likes of Burton and Crawley. I don’t understand how this sort of thing works, but wouldn’t Wolves rather he was at a higher level. And if they were happy for him to return to L1, could we not afford him, or was he not interested in coming back here?
I think from his point of view he gets to challenge right at the top of the league, more headlines and exposure and then a choice of clubs the year after or the chance to stay with them in the championship.
There are some giants in this division this year, no shame in not being one, especially when we beat them, and wouldn't rule out us finishing right up there with some luck. Hopefully using up the injuries early.
felt we had a great chance of being right up there this season but not signing Nige/losing CF and all the injuries we are having is damaging this big time...Blooms hopefully has something up his sleeve

I don’t think they are.
Absolutely gutting news. Just cannot understand why he’s gone on loan to a club in the same division.

Phew, At least we don't have to worry about him being recalled in January.

And their owner is worth more than ours. He recently sold his business for £6.7b
Not my valuations but Transfer Market .com who provide details about players stats etc.
Bournemouth are in the same division as Manchester United.
Oxford are in the same division as...name any other Champo club.
Bromley are in the same division as Bradford.
Not all division bedfellows are equal.
We all loved Forino and Lonny, but the only surprise to me is that people thought we would attract them over the likes of Bolton and Huddersfield.
thought we had a billionaire owner?! 😜

@Kim_il_Swan - just wanted some help with my vacation planning. Wrong thread, sorry!

God, I've stayed in some shit holes.
See where you are going with it though.
Depends on your interpretation of "friendly"? 😉

Here’s the latest rumour… guess who he used to play for?

There are a number of factors to why we may not have signed Lonwijk:
You can't just sign someone because you want them. We don''t know anything in terms of all of the above.
