I have the same annual tradition with this trophy, seeing as they stream it abroad.
Step One (pre-match): "I know it is just the Papa Johns, but it is a chance to see our development players and some additional low pressure action. I am almost looking forward to this!"
Step Two (15 minutes in, trying to watch the first match): "MY EYES, MY EYES - MAKE IT STOP!!!"
I should hasten to add that is nothing against our development players - just an observation that the competition has the atmosphere of a post-apocalyptic dystopian world.
If we ever somehow win this competition, we need to get a WWE/boxing style championship belt made so that whenever anyone calls us 'Little Wycombe' we can just sling it at their feet and point to it menacingly.
Young looking very much like a Scowen understudy. Pattenden confirming promise shown in previous matches. My first sight of Leathers. Impressed. Likewise Wakely.

This husk of a competition isn't worthy of #BadgeTalk

Do we still get £10,000 a game and all the Pizzas you can eat?
Any thoughts on attendance? I'm optimistically going for zero.
If I did not work, lived closer, had eaten a hot meal, there was nothing on the telly and I really did not have anything better to do, I would go.

Kaninda straight into the side
Thread title seems a bit misleading
Why play Tyla in the League Cup and Max in the Mickey Mouse cup- that makes zero sense to me.
Strange that Horgan gets a run out here but did not get on until late on Saturday. Of the two Wing seems the sluggish one in need of game time to me.

One can only assume Wing must be brilliant in training.
The youngsters seem to have lots of confidence which is really good to see
sad to see Nick Freeman risked when one of the Trust board could have played
I’ll be honest, signing all these kids is a sneaky way of making me slightly interested in this competition.
I think thats because we have to have a certain number of players who played in the last match playing tonight. Overwise I think we get fined
Love to see this! @Shev you have my vote if you ever wanted to go into politics or running the FA!
Don’t think the GK counts for the four “senior players” so I was surprised Max started. Not sure who the four seniors are tbh.
JJ, Jason, Daryl, Nick Freeman and even AAH have all featured in recent first team games.
Is anyone actually watching? From Twitter it seems like nothing is happening…
Watching what?
Yes
You are right its all been a little toothless so far, in our case I suspect in part due to the fact none of them will have played much together
Loving Phil Catchpole pronouncing our keepers name in a Yorkshire accent.
"STRRREEAAK"
Love the way Horgan is encouraging the youngsters & directing them to where they should be or who they should be marking
Young, Leathers and Pattenden all look like they’ve played for Wycombe for years.
I forgot group games in this thing went to pens

Penalties now.
Very scrappy, flat second half.
Wakely also looked solid at the back
Bit of a pain we have to risk senior players to ensure its a 'meaningful' fixture for Premier League youth teams though.
