Three behind closed doors with progressively tougher opponents to bed in new players / trial formations and work out tactics / ‘keep powder dry’ from oppo scouts. Makes sense.
Main problem for me is there are so many players with the same bloody name. A. Triallist plays alongside A Triallist etc etc. I just maybe am too old for all the secrecy. 🤷♂️
There was supposed to be a little U.S. tour this summer, according to prior RC comments. I think it was going to be Halifax, Canada and some northeastern US Cities. I am not sure what happened there.
Maybe we could tour in November this year when the World Cup is on? We seem to have a light month with only two fixtures Cheltenham & Forest Green, both away. Maybe the lads would like a West Country tour/piss up tacked on the end before the return to serious business in December?
Brian Clough would have had them all off to Cala Mayor, Majorca for a mid season break, given that opportunity.
It's for the players not the fans but it does seem a bit weird that the only "proper" first team game with fan access is hours away. Not long until the real stuff...

"Details of further friendlies with entry for supporters will be announced in due course."
Which also doesn’t make sense, unless you think these friendlies are still to be arranged.
Makes total sense to me!
Club have labelled them practice matches rather than friendlies
Is it possible the stadium/pitch will not be ready for any friendlies for a while or did I dream that there was ongoing work?

More fan facing friendlies tba
Development squad games already planned.
All seems clear and professional to me.
‘Nothing to see here’.
It would cost the club more money than they'd make to stage what are ultimately practice games.
Plus we know how secretive our club is with trialists and potential signings.
Friendlies are "gash" anyway, as some have so eloquently put it. 🤷♂️
I actually enjoy pre season games. Team back out on the grass with new faces, usually clement weather, pitch looking good, no pressure on the result.

I'd of like a little tour somewhere.
I must admit friendlies leave me cold as well though I quite enjoyed the Leicester game (traffic chaos aside) as they brought a strong team.
Must admit, I don't bother with friendlies, never have. I like there to be something riding on the match
Yep, you can't win with some fans.
Hold the practice games without advance mention and it'd be "why don't they club communicate".
Communicate it now "why"...etc etc
The club are clearly splitting things into Development friendlies, practice games and first team friendlies.
Same. There's a relentless 9month 50 game season imminently. Why would you want to see some relative plod fest half fit work out?
Yep
I’m saying nothing.

Fairly sure I saw Rob say to someone the other day that he'd like to do it within the year
Can't wait to get on a Motts Coach and go on this tour.
We (or at least 'a Wycombe XI') should play Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers really
We’ve got a nice little trip to the New Forest coming up. We will be playing Bournemouth in Brockenhurst on Friday 22nd. Fans permitted.
Edit: tickets on sale soon, £10 for adults + £1 booking fee. The match will be all ticket.
Tickets now on sale:

Its only a 'light' because of the 1st & 2nd rounds of the FA Cup

The team may be doing a pre season training camp down there. And it is v near where Dobbo lives, bbq at his place😉
Now imagining Dobbo living in a little hut in the woods à la Hagrid
It seems like a very odd way to treat the fans.
How so?
