Just read that they are playing at Adams Park on 19th March.

  • Interesting, I wonder how this came about. It would be great if a pre-season friendly in Jersey resulted.

I note that they are also using the Racecourse Ground at Ascot on Wednesday 30th March, a week we could be playing there.

  • Thought this was an American football outfit for a second!

No, that's a jersey and helmet

We toured Jersey at least once before, one of the times in the 70's.

  • What a pity Jersey Bulls v Banstead Athletic isn’t being played on Sunday 20th instead of Saturday 19th at 3pm. Very difficult to be in 2 places at once!

  • Can somebody from the Trust or within the club explain how this fixture came to be at Adams Park please?

We played one game there in 1970, and two in 1971. We also played two games there in 1931. They played at Loakes Park in 1972.

I would be very interested in going to see us play there, and Guernsey at the same time. Unlikely to happen but we have played games in France recently.

  • If my memory serves me well I think we drew 3-3 with Jersey in 1972?

I lived in Guernsey for a couple of years who have had a team in England for many years now. The rivalry with Jersey is quite strong. My favourite chant (yes puerile)..'Jersey girls, make more noise, when they're shagging Guernsey boys'

(That knick nack Paddy whack tune)

    Yes, Mellows, Hutchinson and Birdseye.

This is rather silly and a missed opportunity. Can only assume it's some ruling by the League

  • Or difficulties with flights back to Jersey and Monday jobs

  • Talking of islands I randomly went to the football tournament of the .'island games' just before covid in Holyhead which had been moved from the host island

  • It was a great display of flags so got our Wycombe ensign out. Attracted some interest

  • They actually converse in Welsh there (at least when an Englishman turns up)

Apparently their owner has a box AP, must be some sort of commercial connection?

  • Hopefully we’ll have someone there to take a look at the players maybe we will find the next Graham le Saux

Well Cherry Red Records also sponsor the league that the teams play in, so maybe that’s the link?

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combined_Counties_Football_League

  • The connection is AP box holder Simon Webster, founder and CEO of SHUFL Capital, shirt sponsor of the Bulls.

  • We spoke to the CEO and co-founder of Jersey Bulls on The Wycombe Wanderers Show on Thursday night https://podlink.to/TWWS :)

He offered an open invitation to Gareth to bring the team to Jersey. Bring it on!

  • Guernsey (with over ten years in the English pyramid) sing 'Jersey girls make more noise, when they're shagging Guernsey boys'. A window into channel islands mentality

  • Playing Jersey would be akin to welcoming Stanford into lord's, over an honest FA who we have played in the past

  • I don't think we should be having anything to do with either of these tax avoidance satellites thinking about it. Although I'm sure there are plenty of South Bucks people linked

  • Let's get Russia in as well

  • Pentagular tourney...Russia, Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman Islands and Wycombe. All the places guilty south Bucks people hide their money at the expense of the poor

  • Whilst living in big detached houses

  • And playing table tennis against Wycombe players and chatting in Marlow bistros

  • Good night?

  • FT Jersey Bulls 2-3 Banstead Athletic.

A dramatic end, Bulls equalised, 2-2 (90+5), Banstead made it 3-2 (90+6) and the Banstead manager was sent off (90+8). No crowd figure yet.
