There are so many that could also be in there. Bell, McCarthy, Bates, Ryan, Brown, Simpson, Currie, Betsy, McCleary, Devine, Garner, Rammell.....the list goes on and on
We've been very lucky to see so many amazing players over the years
I want to see Mawson, Eze and Torres back in the quarters, could someone put them in their line up for me please.

(Couldn’t leave Betsy or Carroll out so Betsy has had to go on the left hand side. Only saw a handful of games in 1993/94 which is the only reason Guppy not in my team).

That is a hell of a team! (although Grimmer ahead of Cousins is clearly madness, much as I love him)

Lots of different things at play with such discussions like this one.
Someone like Roger Johnson was clearly a quality player, as he went on to play in the premier league. But for us I don't think he was anywhere near the finished article and for me Williamson's top level for us was superior.
You think about Tony Adams, albeit a bit of a maniac, coming in, and thinking he was either a left back, or a striker (!). And there were thoughts at the time that Williamson and Johnson needed a more experienced defender to help them along.
However, that last half a season we had from Williamson I thought he was absolutely imperious. Probably only Mawson could rival him (and of course we didn't own him, so can't be included in this debate).
On another note, McCarthy and Bates was probably the best combination we fielded, but I couldn't say either were better individually than Williamson.
Half of these line-ups don't work
I'm not even going to bother trying, I'd pick my team then remember all the people I'd also like to put in, almost impossible task for me
Mine would reach the Premier League
Exactly how I felt when I started having a go!

I’m with @HolmerBlue and @YorkExile about this thread but that hasn’t stopped me having a glance at all the suggestions. Several interesting things caught my eye, the most remarkable being the unprecedented unanimity about Martin Taylor being our best ever goalkeeper. Oh for a Martin Taylor now.
Another interesting aspect was the way the selections gave clues, if not to the age of participants, at least to the length of time they’ve been following the Mighty Wanderers.
@Chris, for example, must be even younger than I thought. As for @ChasHarps, I know he goes back a long way (and any omission of players from the early ‘nineties wouldn’t be the result of failing memory!).
With his choice of two fullbacks and a centre half, I wasn’t sure if he was reflecting the current era or had gone back to the days of half backs and inside forwards. I’m now getting my own back on @ReturnToSenda for occasionally baffling me with statistical wizardry.
Speaking of wizardry, there's a bloke in the family stand who looks like a wizard and I am this close to asking him to magic up a win.
I would have loved to but out of that list, Torres was the only one who we can include as Mawson & Eze were never "our's"
I'm guessing when people have included Betsy & Tyson, they are thinking about their first stint at the club and not their second!
Same with Guppy, and arguably every player we've had?
That's one for another thread though.
Has Scowen been better in his second spell?
He's a different player now, quality, but maybe without that initial eye catching level that saw him sold on?
Just for the record, although I'm abstaining... Martin Taylor and Steve Guppy would both definitely be in my team
