I think the reasons Wrexham have done so well at home & less well away is that at L1 level refs & linos are intimidated by the atmosphere created at The Racecourse and (def)er to the home team and the baying of the crowd. If the refs were better they wouldn't be officiating L1 games sadly.
Add to that a very cynical, physical style of play and that is why they concede so few.
Someone mentioned Ben Foster who managed to get 20 minutes of content for YouTube when we played Watford but had a suspicious blind spot or camera fail around the time he punched one in his own net, scooped it back out and the ref saw nothing and played on.
It seems officials in this League are overawed by Hollywood FC which is a joke as if they get promoted it will be the 3rd promotion on the trot that they have bought not earned.
Didn't score but won a bunch of FKs and got himself booked in classic De Barr fashion. Played in the middle of the park alongside James Scanlon rather than as an isolated striker and got a lot more involved. Bartolo was a late sub, but Gib tired out in the end and lost 3-1. Did hit the woodwork again late on though, if they could've just taken their chances it could've easily been a draw.
I don't think anyone actually believes Wrexham have "paid off the refs" but it's patently true that they have benefitted hugely from a number of major refereeing decisions going their way to influence results.
Stockport yesterday, Huddersfield away recently, Blackpool away earlier in the season to name just 3.
Just seen the highlights. Shocking decision really. McLean should be ashamed...but pen was saved and poor reactions from the Stockport defence cost them. I do not believe refs are being bought...do believe there is a element of Hollywood hype and docco cameras influencing decision making though. Hopefully their luck turns for their easy run in.🙂
It was really annoying that a guy who averages about 2 goals a season and can't hit a cows bahooky missed the pen and then had time to sweep in from a harder angle while the pedestrian defenders couldn't get near it.
I genuinely believe that they're about the 10th best team in the league. 11th in expected points despite all the decisions in their favour is wild. Lets hope the refereeing decisions and general heaps of luck revert to the mean over their final 8 games.

Wonder if JJ De Barr has scored yet.
Sorry @Malone.
Press on, the collective ranting period has now ended, and we go again next weekend.
In fairness to Wxm, here’s a penalty that was not given to them.
Surely stonewall?

Wales vs Kazakhstan soon.
Odd to think that in the future we'll be cheering on the six Wycombe players in the away team.

Surely the most iconic sliding door moment in our recentish past is @glasshalffull needing to take a leak...
The rest is history as they say.
Not only do Charlton get thrashed at Peterborough but it looks like Leaburn is out for the season having picked up an injury this week in training.
Crikey, it’s all gone a bit chemtrails on this thread.
Paid off refs. EFL corruption. Ryan Reynolds’ mafia-esque behaviour.
Meddling antics of The Ownership Group. It's the eight games that Wrexham have lost that PROVES they have bought the refs. Can't you see?
WAKE UP, we love our SHEEPLE

That linesman yesterday reminded me of a ref i had in a football tournament about 20 years ago.
Could easily be persuaded about a decision based on how loudly you shouted at him.
Except that was lowest level amateur football. For the same to happen in pro football is a bit worrying.
Crawley away at the start of Feb was arguably the most outrageous of all

However much people hate a stat with an 'x' in front, Wrexham are ELEVENTH in expected points

They're certainly the best at seeing games out when 1-0 up.
10 1-0 wins this season must be some kind of record?
West Brom got 15 in 2001-02. Can't find any more than that
Wrexham are no way second best team in the league. Come on League One, we need to see them fall. That was not a penalty at any level!
Wasn’t there a decision v Wolves in injury time, when their player fouled Fred, dived , they were awarded a free kick and scored and won 1-0.

Norwich away I think it was. The diver scored the free kick!
It was Buen..something or other, now plays for Aston Villa, another team who have dived and prospered against us recently.
Fred was denied a blatant penalty earlier in that game too
Well done to Eze for netting his first goal for England. What a joy it was to watch his burgeoning talent in our colours.
Emiliano Buendia - stood on Fred's toes & then fell over. Ref awarded Norwich a free kick from which Buendia scored.
