MK captain Alex Gilbey on their 3-0 defeat at the Dons today (from MK Citizen).
"I'm sick of coming into games and as players, lacking desire, lacking a want to win, wanting to run. We did it for 20 minutes in the second-half, but I feel like we keep repeating ourselves.
It's a rivalry. They HATE us, and they're winning every first ball, every second ball. They are so desperate to win and to beat us, and they deserved it and it hurts to say that. I feel sorry for the fans to travel all this way, for them to have to go through what they go through over and over again, every day on social media, and then we show up like that? It's disappointing. That's down to us to correct that.
To a man, we were so poor. We're waiting for someone else to do something. It's one of the biggest games of the season, not just for us, but for the club, the fans.
It's about wanting to win and fighting for what you stand for. They've done that today in abundance, and we were like rabbits in the headlights waiting for something to happen. If we keep doing that, we'll keep going away from home and losing, nothing will change. It's about growing a pair and saying this won't happen again, and again and again.”
I have the north London derby on, no idea who the commentator is but his grasp of the English language would have Micra penning a strongly worded letter.
Worth saying that Bordeaux FC are not currently the Bordeaux of old competing against Europe’s elite. After financial problems they play in tier 4 of the French League.
Should be a good experience for them though. All it takes is one to stand out and they can suddenly get a big move. Opening up the Youth League to all UEFA members is one of UEFA's few good ideas of late.
In the very autumn of his career Dave Carroll could do things with a ball most players at our level could barely dream of. We're lucky to have had him.
After some odd rulings where we have had to change the quarters it appears Spurs and Coventry both wearing slightly different shades of light blue this evening.
In the "what if" moments, the Doc playing an absolutely insane ball across the pitch at 0-0 v Chelsea away, letting Shevchenko cruise in and score is always high up. We were right in the game then, with Betsy giving Ashley Cole probably one of the hardest games i'd seen him have. But that ruined it 1-0 was pretty much gameplan ruined and it was a comfy thrashing in the end.
But another is when Babbel (i think) was holding up Vinnicombe (?) in the corner late on at the FA cup semi at Villa Park late on.
Crafty Dave came round the blindside, nicked the ball and was just about to deliver a ball, when the ref blew up, harshly I thought.
Mine too. For 14 years he gave us complete peace of mind, once he had the ball. I think he is still working for Space Station Storage, possibly at the Brentford branch.

But why would we 😂
Seriously, I hope the young lad does ok for them, as long as we beat them home and away.
ColU concede two in injury time to draw 3-3 with Morecambe. Morecambe hadn't scored in the league before today.

To travel all this way
Reading now below us in the league. Officially a downward move for RC.
Whilst your ‘goal of the season’ was rather tongue in cheek, my ‘miss of the season’ isn’t.

I enjoyed every word of this.
“I feel sorry for the fans to travel all this way”
How apt considering the circumstances of the rivalry.

Watching the EFL highlights - Charlton away at Shrewsbury, wearing their black kit…it’s madness, they should have been wearing red.
An Mk Dons player talking about "fighting for what you stand for" was not on the bingo card as they say
Andy Carroll at 35 has signed a 4 year contract to join Bordeux.
He loves it in France apparently. Good luck to him.

Will he get Bordthough?
Currently without a win and second from bottom.
They now play at the Stade Sainte Germaine seen here in the game at the weekend. Official attendance 63.

Like playing for Penn and Tylers Green but with better weather.
I really mustn't misread things.
For a moment I was astonished to see Dave Carroll still playing!
Dave turns 58 on Friday.
Cripes!
Lincoln Red Imps on a hiding to nothing against Maribor in the UEFA Youth League losing 6-0, but if you look at their squad most of them are 16 and under, including the reserve keeper being 13 years old: https://www.uefa.com/uefayouthleague/clubs/2612455--l-red-imps/squad/

Brought back a random memory of about 30 years ago, a kid called Gary in my class at school who was adamant Carroll was "crap".
Inexplicable viewpoint.

My all time favourite Wycombe player. Those were the days.

Eastleigh have withdrawn from the non league version of the pizza cup.
