Lots of positives. Mehmeti great ball player. McLeary looks strong and quick. Just don’t have a striker like Taylor - he really is top class and has been every time I’ve seen him play. Not disappointed by that at all .....
Up and down today against a decent side, lots of positives and we were a bit disjointed with the change's and injuries, too early to say we've got enough to stay up but I think the last couple of weeks shows we aren't a million miles away and it's definitely possible.
It's hard to be too down. Forest were much better than i thought they were, they'll move up the table pretty quickly now i think. I like Wheeler, but i hope he doesn't start in that role again, not least because it left JJ totally exposed.
Ifollow issues meant I only saw the 2nd half. Not a bad performance by any means, but perhaps without the spark of recent matches, understandable given the amount of games. McLeary looked very exciting though, he made a huge difference. Such a shame Forest got their 2nd when they did, as we were starting to build up a head of steam and they were hanging on rather at that stage.
Lyle Taylor was the big difference though, as he so often is against us. Very classy player
Weird that everyone always raves about Toney whereas I thought Taylor was often slightly under the radar despite also scoring bags of goals. Thompson again great today. Missed Dennis a bit - would like to see Mehmeti playing in the no 10 role but we really suffer without a target man.
As Dobbo said post match, some really good signs and we had Forest on the back foot for much of the match. Forest are a team who will be up near the top before long and we gave them a really good game.
From the start of the season to now on the whole our squad looks a lot stronger and we are going to give a right good go . With our work ethic and no little skill you never know

Would like to see the Samuel-Kashket partnership again in the event we don't have a target man available - got some joy out of that against Millwall.
That's arguably the combo I'd least like to see, as it offers zero physicality.
In fairness I've managed to totally miss your qualifier about no target man available - apologies!
In that case yes - always a specialist over someone filling in.
We need to play with a proper target man to have a chance the way we play. Where is Uche? Have we just been unlucky with him being injured all the time or have we bought a dud? Has Parker fallen that far down the batting order? Hopefully the international break will give us time to get everyone fit including Uche!!
Mccleary will be hard to shift once he is fully fit if he can keep that level of performance. I assume Wheeler was chosen for heading ability but I would have preferred Samuel with Scotty myself.

That effort by Alex Samuel late on took me by surprise and was the nearest we came to scoring. So often, the Forest penalty area was choc-a-bloc with players as they crowded us out and then proceeded to rub our noses in the proverbial by scoring twice against the run of play. Very promising debut by Garath McCleary. Plenty of pace down the right and several excellent crosses, any one of which, ironically, Kashket might have stabbed home ! Despite his nuisance value (not least in keeping two defenders occupied) Bayo doesn't currently look like scoring and today especially he seemed to be second best in aerial challenges. Sheer exhaustion from having to play far more minutes (surely) than anyone would have expected following the signing of Uche must be a major factor. Like the rest of us, he will no doubt benefit from the international break!

Totally different approach now.
Slight shame it's Kashket who has come off. The Bayo Kashket combo has it all.
Mccleary looks useful. Mehmeti still doing well considering. Oh dear Lolley on.
I thought Mehmeti would have been the more obvious change, but Scott was getting nothing out of their back four.
McCleary looks useful
Excellent save by Rocky there
Did Big Phil just throw a "Notts Forest" in there.
Notts Forest @bluntphil ? You are adding to my dismay...
Not down after that, things still looking very good overall
No points but another positive performance. McCleary looks very dangerous and Memeti seems a great prospect. Knight continues to impress.
Just a shame to let Forest build a 5 point gap up over us.
But i think we'd all have taken being 1 point off 4th bottom by the second international break.
Our stats werent too bad...and at least Biden won! Another decent display here's hoping we come out of the traps fast after the break!

Taylor is amazing, can't believe he didn't play in the Champ til he was 29

Yup I love Wheels but he is no striker on this showing!

@Malone But Samuel will hold the ball up whereas you need Kashket to be perfectly in sync with Wheeler for his flick-ons to pay off.
Is that what we’ve been getting with Bayo and Kashket?
In fairness I've managed to totally miss your qualifier about no target man available - apologies!

Yeah, but Kashket has a greater understanding with Bayo and you do get an element of hold-up play as well.
