I consider this big news - may be worth changing the title of the thread.
Jez what a painful interview, the interviewer couldn’t have been anymore cringe. Could Pete be a bit more professional in future? Painful to hear him discuss the Premiership wage bit.

I think I'll wait for the statement from the club haha, it struck me as maybe a 3-pint down conversation. Nothing wrong with that, but usually I imagine the club would want to make a bigger deal of the announcement rather than letting it slip on a podcast.
I don’t know who the “interviewer” was (and PC wasn’t at his most fluent) but the way the guy constantly interrupted him and spoke over him in a loud voice was indeed cringe making. As @jessvl1 said, it sounded like a 3 pint fuelled “conversation”, if not more (but no match for @NorsQuarters who was virtually on fire in that Norwegian bar. Manic. And I know him as enthusiastic and totally besotted with WW but always quite measured. A nice guy.)

The "interviewer" is a young Wycombe fan who goes home and away - I suspect this 6 minute podcast is exactly that - an excitable ramble washed down with pints of both beer and promotion delirium at the same time. I wouldn't slam the interviewer for being excited - I imagine any of us recording a 6 minute conversation with PC right now would also be "cringe making".
He's also recorded some really interesting interviews with players in a more professional setting when things aren't quite so hectic! The 90 minute chat with JJ is a great listen.
I thought the cringe factor might have been exadurated.... It was not. I was turning inside out listening to the guy talking.... No, shouting over PC. I just hope the Stewart information is fact

What did the locals make of your celebrations @NorsQuarters? Couldn’t work out if they were bemused, pissed off, or terrified!
Mostly bemused but I was a bit glib and was, er, escorted from the premises when I kept chanting. Suited me fine as there was no post match show at all on the tele there. The lack of any tangible atmosphere (?!) is mostly due to corona spacing rules and we had one little alcove to ourselves, though they will have to wipe the walls down after that! Takes a lot to terrify Vikings generally though.
To be fair @micra this was rather a special occasion and my overextended warm up really lit me up, as I believe the youth have taken to saying! I'm just getting my voice back today as I forgot to warm up the vocal chords as I do with the Barmy Army at AP.
Will be great to see you all again at AP next season. I feel like we have collectively experienced a magic moment in life that has brought such joy, amidst the most widespread crisis in living memory. We are literally living through an historic time that will live on in Wycombe Wanderers folklore. We are the lucky ones. This is our time. See you at our house next season.
Ps. Find myself agreeing more and more with @eric_plant on here. Stranger things have happened; Wycombe playing in the Championship, for one!

Also, let's not sell Fred.
Yes, apologies for the hypotheticals

I was going to say the same, surely if he had signed a new contract there would've been an official announcement ?
Why are they even mentioning Premier league contract clauses. Just for the absolute insanity of how that sounds?!

There was a little quiet clapping.

I think Pete will be getting a bollocking off Rob for drunkenly blurting out info like that in a pub to an amature journalist ??
I have heard Pete is a leeetle free with info!
Hopefully that passion doesn't come to bite us with anything announced too soon!
I thought they were both in the state of delirium that I’ve been in the last couple of days. And rightly so.

COYB!? Love to you all, my Wycombe family.?
Look forward to seeing you @NorsQuarters but in the mode I’d become accustomed to on the couple of occasions we’ve met for a pint!
