I'm very fond of "early doors", not just because it's the title of my favourite sitcom. It has a daft charm about it.

@Buzz, yes, the cast, the plot lines, the one liners, everything about it was perfect. That permanent smoke fug in the pub, those were the days!
Not so much a phrase but commentators' seemingly inability to distinguish a yard from a foot.
