a) that a conversation will have taken place between manager and player
b) that only if player was up for it, would manager have exercised the legal right to recall.

@DevC shamefully I've never been allowed to manage people - even hypothetically - but though it is probably too late in my career now I would have been dead good at it. As illustrated above.
