Match day thread: Port Vale

  • Vale fan in peace here, we are looking at getting our second win of the season here after what looked like a promising win against Crawley at the weekend, and trying our best to get back into League 1 after an absolutely torrid season last year. We're kind of a second half team, play awesome in the first half but tend to fall apart in the last 45 minutes, hopefully that won't happen tomorrow! We tend to play better at home.

Have a good journey up for those going the match, always good to see Ainsworth back at the Vale even if he's not on our side anymore!

Thanks, @alsager93 . We're kind of a second half team, too, insofar as we try to lump the ball into the second half of the pitch as often as possible. Don't hold your breath for a feast of football tomorrow but thanks for your good wishes and hope you enjoy the game.

Any advice on where best to park?

  • Cheers @alsager93. All the best from Sunday onwards.

Went to Vale Park once before but went with a Vale supporting friend-of-a-friend so went in the home end. Completely forgot myself when Wycombe scored, fortunately your fans were very forgiving, although the fact we still lost 2-1 probably helped smooth things over...

    COYB!

  • That looks a much better starting eleven.

  • If we get Paris and Nathan involved it could be a great afternoon.

  • Is it just me or is everyone getting the Port Vale team commentating via the Wycombe iFollow app (on Android)?

  • Get in

  • 1-0, Bayo!

  • What a goal that was. Sam Saunders is looking fantastic today.

  • 2-0!! PCH.

  • Paris is looking lively and motivated today.

  • Sounds a really good performance on IFollow. Having to nip out every few minutes from this wedding reception to listen.

  • Holy shit.

  • 3-0. Goal every 10 minutes?

  • 3-0. Bayo again. Extraordinary scenes.

  • I really do think our pitch size is hindering us at home, but I digress this is awesome...

  • Paris has gone off injured in all the excitement.

  • Bloody hell i didn't expect this!!

  • Great stuff! COYB

  • 4-3-3 and 3 goals up. Bad first half for @rmjlondon and @Wwfc2015_ and Mr Stokes then.

  • For those that are there are we looking good for it or will there be problems second half?

  • Fantastic performance. The wind does seem to be having an influence.

    And mr clift

  • Great show so far. Saunders looking imperious.

  • What on earth is going on? This is some glorious stuff.

Can anyone confirm if that's the first time Bayo has hit a double for us?

  • @braywanderer depends how massive a sesh they've been on before the match probably...or if they are at Stamford Bridge where it looks like Mr Conte may be in need of their advice today.

  • 'There are reports of an altercation at the Kings Road waitrose this evening between David Luiz and an irate fan following the game against Burnley...'

  • @alsager93 (Port Vale) said they tend to fall apart last 45 minutes. Like the sound of that!
I thought it was miraculous that PCH started the game after breaking his back in several places on Tuesday. Is it a recurrence or something new, do you think?
