you cannot play hayes and thompson together upfront he has finally realised this I hope, Harriman is not a midfielder and I can maybe see Jombati being let go in the summer if somebody will take him.
Strange comment considering that we lost the 65 minute period without Hayes and Thompson upfront 1-0, and we won the 25 minute period with Thompson and Hayes up front 1-0.
I agree that Harriman struggled in the role he was given yesterday, but I thought Jombati had a good second half against Alessandro. It would be desperate if he left as we would be without a quality right back for next season again.
Harriman's best position is clearly as a right winger because he can get involved more in the game. His form took a kamikaze nose dive since he signed, and it's good to see it's picked up recently.
In terms of not playing the tactics, I think GA's is just trying to put the best players out on the pitch - we had a good run earlier this year when he played a diamond in the middle, trying to move the ball around quickly.
It's evident that Wood's form is nowhere near as good as it was last year, JJ hasn't been as effective and we're lacking brute strength in midfield.
If you think that a team with Mawson, Scowen, Paris Cowan Hall, Sam Saunders and Yennaris managed to get us to the play-offs, this side isn't anything like as good as that was, so we can't expect an automatic pass into the top 7.
I think some of it comes down to the signings that have been made, I can knock any of them but they weren't really all that we needed. McCarthy is beyond reproach but his place meant that one of our best players from last season has not played. Harriman has been largely superb but it has meant Thompson being used as a striker when most of his career has been at winger. O'Nein and McGinn are excellent (and its great to see the latter show his class now) but Bloomfield and Bean are capable in that central role and Bean deserved a starting place each week IMHO. But we remain weak on the left and whilst he centre of midfield are excellent all four players to chose from are very similar.
Banton was risk that failed early and we never resisted that until PCH came along and was desperately unlucky.
Maybe it is a case of budget and having to wait to see what was left on the shelf after everyone had finished shopping. Maybe its a case of just signing good players but with no sense of team structure.
I will go to my underground bunker after this but I believe Hayes would make a good player manger/ manger because he has respect from the players and helps the younger players also the team seems to struggle if he is replaced during a game (Aston villa). The other problem I have is GA seems to be writing his own c/a when interviewd.
A somewhat enigmatic post Brittany or perhaps it's just me? No, I'm wrong. The first bit makes sense (apart from the manger bit) but I've no idea what you are reading into GA's interviews.
I agree with you Brittany that Hayes potentially could make a good manager. However you need to be a coach for a couple of years before taking on the main job.
Could he possibly be suitable for coaching the younger players we are supposedly getting next season alongside continuing his playing career?
@prufrock_91 on Hayes. It's a bit painful seeing him at times chasing back deep in some odd wide midfield role.
If Wood and O Nien are back any time soon, I'd like to see return to the 4-4-2, with O Nien and Bean central, Wood and Harriman wide. Harriman at times has looked our best threat, with his pace and runs. In the middle he loses most of the attacking threat. Up front, Hayes and one other.
License to drop deep, but not to be using so much energy chasing back in our half.
Richie, it's only McCarthy's good form that has kept Jombati out. Possibly he wasn't helped by his personal/family reasons midseason either.
By either way, he has a 2 year deal left after this season!
Bloomy, now that was a heroic effort yesterday. I'm told broken arms are incredible pain, so to play through that alone was amazing. But now, he's gotta be out for the season, pending some miracle
Not being funny but if Hayes ever becomes our manager will the style of our play improve or will he just carry on with the dross that Ainsworth has forced the team to play? Players often carry on the style that their manager had them playing which at the moment is dull to watch. Maybe in the future he could have the job but he will need to change the way we play as otherwise we will see our crowds dwindle bringing in less money to the club. Fans of every club in League 2 hate our tactics and i can't blame them as football fans want to be entertained not bored shitless after paying money to watch games.

Agreed. People can have rose tinted glasses if they want however it's obvious we are playing boring and crap football...the bad thing Is I dont see it changing any time soon.
Please God let us win on Saturday and Tuesday...if only to give 'dogshit football' and 'I'm not watching anymore of this!' time to recover from their righteous anger.

Well that's not a problem for you, seeing as you're not coming to games anymore.

Don't worry, I would imagine your booing and cries of Ainsworth Out! will keep him awake Wwfc2015.
For your record I do NOT and never boo the players and manager, we support them however give my honest views on here... That's what the gasroom is here for!

I think because we have reached the points target Gareth set, some of the players have subconsciously switched off for the summer.
I never really understood the purpose of publically setting this arbitary points target.

I'll drink to that @Wendoverman.
we won't beat Barnet playing how we are currently, we need 6 points from the two games or we will end up 11th or 12th.
Well that's not a problem for you, seeing as you're not coming to games anymore.
My 5 year old has begged to go to the Barnet game, so will give in....hopefully we won't fall asleep watching us play.
The matchday experience is positive for someone then, great news.
That's right. Scar the poor lad for life

Good to know. My record thanks you.
