I think the most worrying factor is in the lack of goals. Harriman is on 8 Tompson on 7 and O'nien on 5, are we going to to get 10 goals from a striker this year ? or even two strikers past the 5 goal mark.
In The last 18 games we have only once scored more than one goal and that was against Dag & Red. It's becoming incredibly frustrating and arguable boring to watch, as we know if one goal goes in its close to 100% certainty of a lose or draw.
It was a little bit better after the substitutions and Thompson showed the value of experience over youth against big ugly L2 defenders (take a bow DW) but you did get the feeling that York threw it away rather than we deserved a point. Thought it was the worst I've seen Hayes play. Credit to the defence though.
Overall a rubbish game of football and a lucky point but a cracking wrestling match well-supported by a myopic referee's assistant
I can't remember such a bad spell for so many strikers. There is only one excuse and that is the same that has levelled at Utd this season - if you go out with the number goal of not losing you won't necessarily win.
Thankfully the shackles are off otherwise it would be garbage. Roll on Saturday.
What ive seen of Liburd, he is absolutely know where near league 2 standard, Gozie is a willing runner but technically very poor, Hayes im afraid offers absolutely nothing any more. Thommo never seems to be played in the same position two games in a row.
Im getting concerned for next season.
Ainsworth is so overrated, he has no plan b all the small squad small budget crap is his way of getting out of jail what ever the score. There's teams above us with smaller budgets who play football on the deck we probably play the worst football in the football league our style is horrible to watch and we are no good at it(Wimbledon showed how it's done) if you are going to play hoof ball get a big striker not a middle aged dwarf. Bloomfield is a hero jesus Christ I nearly fell over we would actually be better playing 10players why doesn't he do the right thing and retire and free some wages up, and the same goes for hayes (who wouldn't be surprised if he is 2500 a week) all he does is shit flick ons to nobody. Thompson is shit full stop. Them 3s wages combined probably nears 6g a week Fucking dog shit
Once again we seem to be playing aimless long ball football in a 433 formation or a variant there of (it was described as 4213 on the commentary).
Would it kill Ainsworth once, just once, to start with Ryan Sellers and play a 442? Once again when he came on he sounded promising - getting in a decent cross, almost scoring a tap in, getting back and helping Sido (I'm basing this on what I heard as I wasn't there).
We always look better playing in 442. Harriman is at his most potent, strikers don't have to drop back so much. I really struggle to see why GA persists with this narrow formation unless he really doesn't rate Ryan Sellers whatsoever.
@bigred87 I think it's time you found another hobby. It is poo at the minute, but if it gets you down this much it's not worth it. Please carry out your threat, flounce off and go dig an allotment before you either have a coronary or slit your wrists!

I wasn't that convinced today by Ryan. We improved after he came on but that was due more to the fact that Sellars looked total at sea today. He did get back more and help out but his crosses were on the whole pretty poor. Although trying to recall any crosses that came in from that side of the pitch before he came on I'm struggling so I may be being unfair on the lad
Bad result, it's so bad I can't even knock up a chapter and verse on what was a dire performance but hey we play better with Hayes in the side nonsense.
Lol, a highly amusing thread. Remember that we are trying new personel to get more goals, that obviously isn't working yet but GA is a promising young manager and deserves our support.
We can only hope that he gets the balance right and I for one hope that there is still something to play for other than pride by the time Accy come to the chair metropolis, I'm already coming over for that one. We're still in with a shout, support the lads with all you've got!
GA has my total support but we after week the stats show we are not having goal attempts. If we were having double figure attempts and missing then clearly the finger of blame points at the striker (whoever it may be). If Hayes got chances he would score them, he has proved that season after season. But we have to change the formation to introduce some or more creativity. We do have it in the squad even with injuries. Proud that I am of our defensive record it won't fill stadiums.
There was a change in formation yesterday but it was a bad one. 4-2-1-3 with Harriman behind the strikers just didn't work at all. We had no pace in midfield behind the ball when the front four lost it and York could just run straight through at the defence.
We are lacking any sort of creativity in central midfield, and I think that is the source of our lack of goals. McGinn has had a few good games recently but his lack of pace is a significant defensive weakness especially alongside Bean. We really miss O'Nien, but I don't think he is the creative answer. Last year we had Sam Saunders with Nico Yennaris shielding the back four - those two might be significantly out of our league but with something similar this year I'm sure we would be a lot more likely to make the playoffs.
The only player who looks like playing the clever passes to unlock a defence is Hayes, but we don't get him on the ball in the right positions often enough.
It might be tiresome to some, but ultimately it does comes down to lack of funds. We have a small squad that is disproportionately affected by injuries to players like O'Nien, Jacobson, Wood and PCH who each bring their own creative things to the team that we just don't have cover for (our corners yesterday without Jacobson were awful). And with changes to the loan system it's going to be harder next year.
Anyone wanting Hayes dropped has no idea. He is the only player we have with any creativity or wit up front. He marshals the team and is a fantastic captain, especially with a young squad.
I'd be far happier with him having a role where he doesn't need to track back, why don't we save his energy for when we need him going forward?
Also, like most people, I'm incredibly frustrated and disappointed with the 'points tally' debacle - it's fine to have one, just don't come out and say it - however, Ainsworth is right with everything he comes out with in the press conference. It may be cliched, but he's speaking the truth.
We shouldn't be desperately irritated by not making the play-offs as we simply don't have a good enough squad. Last seasons team was at least 4miles and 3.5 furlongs better than this one.
We aren't good enough for the play-offs, or League 1 - this season is a learning curve and consolidation after the last 2 years of mayhem, so let's treat it as such and not get so biliously vile. Just enjoy Sunday and watch the Masters.
My personal frustration is that we don't seem to play the players to match the tactics. We do have a highly limited squad but we do have strengths and players that can adapt. If we are going long play Ugwu. If we are going through the midfield play Hayes in the centre in of the midfield or behind the strikers as he does have great vision. If we are going wide use Harriman or Sellars (or even Sellers). It seems we play Tommo and Hayes up front and go long. Harriman scores goals but he scores from wide and comes in, we play him in the centre? I just get confused by the mismatch of players to tactics. Play it simple, play to people strengths.

The only thing more boring than Wycombe are your posts. Please carry out one of your endless threats and leave us all in peace.

Brilliant idea! Worried I'll not make it home though
Well that was a fascinating set of posts. Full of interesting insights. Best left on Facebook, eh chaps?

For playing on despite what looked like a painful arm injury scoring the goal.
Where's my 12 bore off shotgun

rubbish performance, but everyone would take a draw when time is running out.
critical next 2 games, it really is.
I wouldn't need to piss off if you carried out just one of your multiple threats to bugger off.
Make your mind up you dozy tool.
Whatever you inbred
Oh dear. A bad result and insults being swapped ad nauseum. Is this the FB page in disguise?

Someone rename this forum fraggle rock, somewhere there's a little hole and once in a while another muppet appears.
