How does a season ticket only period put more strain on the system? Surely it gives a finite number of people to buy tickets and spaced out the sales better than an open sale. You are basically limiting the people contacting the club for a day or two.
I think that excuse is a lad of rubbish and once more it takes a little it if value from a season ticket. On its own a tiny bit of value not worthy of complaint or stress but on top of other recent erosion the club is building up a problem.
I dont think now is the moment to argue. Yes its a disgrace to sell seats which are season ticket holders without them having first refusal surely if we got through its an easy 1 for 1 with those who went to villa home??

The club needs season ticket holders.
Sorry. Whilst I agree that ST holders did have a legit (if very minor) cause to complain about the home game distribution you are being very petty if you want privileged treatment for no reason.
I know we all have our reasons for buying STs but really.
the season ticket agreement is it's priority if there's a limit on tickets.
The Villa allocation is pretty much unlimited, so where is the problem? It seems it's just some kind of "principle" thing, but your principle is wrong anyway, as my first line is the agreement!
Selling a season ticket holder's actual seat from under them was a real massive mistake though. That'd be unheard of at any other club and made us look pathetically two bit.
A priority window to buy tickets is a simple no cost added benefit that adds value but not cost to a season ticket. It's been part of season ticket packages across the leagues for decades. Sometimes you don't actually even appreciate it until it is gone so maybe that's part of the plan.
I'm not complaining about this replay policy but have complained about the home game problem.
Sometimes small and simple things can roll up to give bigger consequences. There are fewer and fewer benefits to being a season ticket holder so let's see what happens come renewal time.
With any City game, we'd have a little bit extra time to sort things out, so I'd imagine they'd have a couple of day season ticket only priority, and this time, not pissing about with people's seats!
This Villa away game really is pushed for time, 5 working days to sort

Because they'll still have to deal with people who don't know it's a season ticket only period ringing up trying to buy tickets. Then go through the whole palaver of explaining when they can ring back when they're on general sale, politely rebuff the awkward ones who 'have' to get their tickets at that moment because it's the only chance they'll get all week, etc. etc. And then there would be the season ticket holders who would moan because they didn't know there was a priority period because the club didn't promote it well enough, etc.
Why go through all that hassle when there will be plenty of tickets for all who want one? We're not going to sell out Villa Park are we?

I don't think I'll be able to bear looking at this site if we do go through. The caterwauling will be something else.
Simply because I cant be arsed to sit waiting on the phone, I'll probably go over to AP and buy a ticket.
Just a reminder for all those who seem to have missed it - tickets will be available online.
which will relieve the pressure some what.
