Re: Caleb Taylor recalled
If they played enough games they might be eligible for a medal at Wycombe still - Ritchie De Laet won the promotion medal with Middlesbrough and the Premier League winners' medal with Leicester the same day in 2016 because of that.
Re: Caleb Taylor recalled
Thanks Caleb, maybe we might see you back in a few weeks if WBA sign more CB's or get back one of the two injured CB's.
If not then I'm excited to see who we bring in, maybe Lloyd Jones from Charlton who's out of contract in June and 29 years old or Harry Williams from Walsall, also out of contract in June but only 22. Could we get in another loaner in Sil Swinkels who signed two contracts with Villa last year, the second in November after huge improvements after an ACL injury kept him out from March 2023 to April 2024. Swinkels has been on the bench in four of Villas Champions League games this season.
Long term I'd like Williams from Walsall but short term Swinkels could be the man, maybe we will sign both??
Exciting times.
Re: Rumour Mill
Maybe I've interpreted the rules on FFP incorrectly. From what I have read on this message board we cannot sign Morley for more than a certain amount of money OR pay him a certain wage because of our football related income this season.
I am assuming 50% of ticket sales from an away trip to a 50k plus ground that was full, would increase our FFP and might allow us to sign Morley and pay him the wages to come here.
If I've misunderstood how that works then happy for someone to explain that a bit better for me.
This for me is why I think we might see as close to full strength as possible for Pompey and why the Cup is quite important for us as it stands today.
Re: Rumour Mill
Fair enough, it's something I think you could improve, starting a sentence with "Perhaps" or using "I believe" doesn't seem to onerous but each to their own. I think it would make a more positive contribution.
"Perhaps, it'll be a game between two heavily rotated teams - I don't believe it will tell us anything about our ability to compete with Championship opposition"
Re: Caleb Taylor recalled
Low has to stay now, even if it means we lose him for nothing at end of the season. What a great pairing him and Caleb have been
Re: Match Day Thread: Exeter
That's rubbish and classless from the official account. I thought we'd be above that but there you go.
Re: Rumour Mill
If there's a need to make clear that something is an opinion, I'll do it, but I don't think there was there.
Re: Match Day Thread: Exeter
This season in L1: most touches in opposition box - 1. Wycombe Wanderers (571), 2. Birmingham City (565), 3. Stockport County (551). Most pens: =1 Wycombe Wanderers (6), =1 Birmingham City (6), =3 Stockport County (4).
Least touches: 24. Burton Albion (306), 18. Wigan Athletic (413), =16 Exeter City (448). Least pens: Burton, Wigan, Exeter all with 0.
So no, it doesn't work exactly right, the broader picture is indeed more touches = more pens. Unless half a season is too small a sample size?
Re: Caleb Taylor recalled
Good luck to Caleb who has been brilliant for us.
Hope to see him back in a Wycombe shirt before too long.
