Luton have confirmed they will be unveiling their new manager at 3.30pm
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
As someone with media links I’d have thought you’d understand about not identifying sources.
It doesn’t matter to me whether you believe it or not. I’d hope to have a touch of credibility as I don’t ever do ‘hot exclusive’ or ‘trusted source’ stuff on here, but this is pretty big stuff.
If you think I’m just talking bollocks for attention that’s absolutely fine. We’ll be talking about something else next week - the world moves on. But Rice and Vyshnyakov aren’t the sort of people I’d ever trust to do the decent thing.
That aside, this rather sad news probably works out best for all involved.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
I don't doubt that there is some truth to this, but we can't ignore that Luton also handle their player recruitment at boardroom level, so that can't be the main factor here.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
The only way a small club like Wycombe can be financially viable long term is to have a successful academy.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Couldn't that just be because they knew that this was coming, and didn't want to break confidence? It doesn't need to mean that the rumours of unrest are true.
I think the annoyance is at those anonymous posters who are happy to say that "something is wrong at the club" but not actually support their claims with any evidence other than "trust me" or "believe what you want to believe".
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Probably a fair bit more than that across the last 3 windows, plus wages
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Well this season has had it all so far, success on the pitch, drama off it. I'm sad about whats happening, I don't want Matt to leave, once a legend, always a legend but if something feels right for him and his family then he has to listen to that calling. Matt's stock has never been higher and he's riding the wave as much as we have been towards the top of the table.
I can only wish him all the success in the future, I hope that we don't forget the years he played for us and stuck by us through thick & thin and I hold him in higher regard than GA (who is in my Top 3 people ever to have been a part of WWFC). He will be missed, we'll have to expect some short-term uncertainty & potentially some performances that we aren't used to after the high standard that Matt has left us with. However history has taught us that we are always a club that recovers to whatever is thrown at it. Sometimes it takes a while, sometimes when we almost drop out of the EFL or go bust, but we bounce back, stronger, more together and the community of this club will never die.
Re: The manager post Matty Bloomfield?
I want the club should go all out for Rob Edwards and his team. The assistants and 2 analysts have also just left them. With what the future holds there are similarities between us and Luton and despite him looking absolutely shattered at the end of his tenure at Luton this could be exactly what he needs with the support of his trusted team around him. There is also the benefit that he and his background staff are all available and must be relatively local to us too.
