Special mention for Grimmer tonight too, I really did think he was excellent. But they all had very good games, well done lads!
Re: Match Day Thread: Burton
Best performance since October I thought. Great shape. Fantastic positional rotation. Everyone performed well.
We appeared to have done some work on positional shape on the ball and brought both full backs into unusual positions. Reach very high at times likes a winger, with Leahy tucked in at LB and Udoh allowed to play next to Kone. Very effective, with their RB unsure who to mark. Likewise, Grimmer picked up some nice positions, including the one from which he hit the post.
Surprised the Burton keeper didn't go down after 10-15 mins to allow them to reset their marking. They seemed to sort themselves out a bit by around the 35 mins mark, forcing Norris into a few longer kicks.
Burton didn't offer much and seemed to allow us an age on the ball. At times we literally had the man on the ball marshalling 2 or 3 teammates into position to allow us to build a move from the back. I can't see many teams giving us that much time on the ball in the remaining games.
Re: Showing our support for Ukraine
Something like we did a couple of years ago perhaps https://www.wwfc.com/news/2022/april/13/blues-to-wear-a-kit-for-ukraine-on-good-friday/

Re: Wycombe v large crowds
Oh yeah, I was at that one. Great day out. Vokes scored, and Forino put in an unbelievable performance at the back
Re: Match Day Thread: Burton
Utterly irrelevant references to Bloomfield, suggesting a man who gave over 20 years of his life to our club doesn’t care about Wycombe and we don’t care about him and all we care about being Alex Lowry. A new low.
Re: Burton MOTM Poll
Udoh. He’s getting better with every game,
He only just gets it ahead of the utterly imperious Mr Scowen though. Burton have been on the receiving end of two midfield masterclasses from him this season,

Re: Burton MOTM Poll
Udoh as well, not an easy finish for his goal and he was a constant menace to the BAFC defence.
But yeah, a bunch of great shifts put in all round tonight, no-one's mentioned or voted for Grimmer yet but I thought he did very well too.

Re: Burton MOTM Poll
I actually went for Reach tonight, but could make a case for several others. The fact it didn't feel like we missed Harvie is a case in point. I also feel like Reach gives us a real attacking outlet from left back.

Re: Match Day Thread: Burton
I'm getting more and more resigned to us getting pipped by Wrexham. Not because of anything we've done. More because they've received an inordinate amount of luck this season
If you actually watch them (as I have four times over the last few weeks), you realise that they're not even very good. There's very little skill or technical ability in that team. I think they're about 15 points better off than they should be, but almost every little thing has gone in their favour over the course of the season. Howler refereeing decisions in their favour every other game, a slew of completely undeserved wins, a never-ending stream of last minute winners
It's astounding, and I think their promotion is written in the stars / by Hollywood I'm afraid
Re: Match Day Thread: Burton
There are no easy games when you get to the business end of the season.
