Wycombe v large crowds
Was reflecting on matches I've seen Wycombe play in recent years with large attendances. In the league I couldn't remember seeing us win any of these 'big' matches.
Checked the records and it looks like we've played league games in front of 15k+ crowds 19 times since COVID: W2. D5, L12.
One of those wins was against Reading with a crowd of 15,038 so only just snuck in.
Is this rather terrible record because those games are all away against bigger teams in our division, or is there something more psychological to it?? Would be worrying if it is the latter should we get promoted, as presumably we'd be encountering crowds of that size every other week

Be a bit worrying if our ongoing demands for more fans leads to constantly losing because it's too noisy and makes the players anxious.

I reckon it's simply because we are likely underdogs against clubs with big support. Interesting subject worthy of analysis though.
We were about 5/1 to win at bcfc so 2 wins out of 19 is possibly slightly lower than expected. 19 isn't a big sample size mind (just one more win would be expected on this crude measure)
I'm amazed we've played in front of that many crowds that big in just a few years!
Consider every game with 15k attendance is away from home also.
What was the other one we won?
We’ve won a couple of times at Pompey if you can class that as a big game. I think at least one of those was in L2. Big crowd at least! But yes, I had the same thought about rarely winning in front of a packed house.

Seems fairly likely there is an unconscious bias creeping in with the question. Any crowd of more than 15K will, by definition, be away from home so our odds of winning are already lower. Ditto they will, by definition, be teams with more history - I hesitate to say they are bigger clubs.
In a couple of years we'll be playing in front of 20k on a regular basis. I'm sure our win ratio will be fine.

What a great signing Chris has been for Bolton. Brilliant on his day but made of chipped glass.
Apparently he was immense v Birmingham last night. But I think your struggle to call him a great signing for Bolton so far, given that predictably he's only played a handful of games
Wiki has him having played EIGHT games for them so far. By early March. So unless your first sentence was irony, it's definitely a stretch.
But however good he's been for them, would he get in over our current double? Probably not.
